G.I. Joe is the code name for Americas
highly-trained special missions force. Its purpose: to
defend human freedom against Cobra, a ruthless
terrorist organization determined to rule the world!
In 1983 Hasbro made a bold statement when it
relaunched its classic toy line of military action
heroes as an adventure-based team of unique
characters, each with his, and her, own specialties.
And because it captured the imaginations and hearts of
boys and girls aspiring to make a difference in the
world, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero was an
immediate success lasting over 25 incredible years.
Now you can relive the original animated adventures of
Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Flint, Lady Jaye and rest
of the Joe team with this 4-disc DVD set of G.I.
Joe: A Real American Hero, including the first
part of the series inaugural season, the three annual
5-part miniseries that started it all: The MASS
Device, The Revenge Of Cobra: The Weather
Dominator and The Pyramid Of Darkness. |

G.I. Joe Season
1, Part 1 (2004)
With Rhino's remastering of The
Transformers nearly complete, it should come as no
surprise that their next target for a wide DVD release
has been G.I. Joe. Often considered to be the best of
the toyline-related cartoons made by Marvel and
Sunbow, the show has remained quite popular even as it
has become overshadowed by the various comic book
series produced by Marvel and Devil's Due.

G.I. Joe: The
Movie (1986)
A 40,000-year-old race of snake people
resurface, and with help of Serpentor, Desto, Baroness
and Dr. Mindbender, plan to eliminate all of mankind
and rebuild Cobrala. Once rulers of Earth, the Snake
people were driven underground by ice-age
temperatures. While in exile, they developed a plant
whose spores turn ordinary men into mindless, weak
animals. The key to their plan is G.I. Joe's secret
project--the Broadcast Energy Emitter. Only this
device generates enough heat so that the spores can
mature. Humankind's very existance depends on G.I.
Joe, but are they strong enough, smart enough, cunning
enough to fight a warrior race with 40,000 years of
experience?
