The Greatest American Hero
This show rocked. It only
lasted three seasons, but that was largely due to being sued by DC
Comics for being too much like Superman. Which, excuse me, the only
similarity was he had a cape and he flew.
The show's premise was basically a school teacher receives a
super suit that gives him super powers. The problem comes because
he doesn't have the instructions. The show's hero, Ralph, would fly
like a wounded duck and run into buildings and signs, but he
always won in the end.

9. The Bionic Woman
The Bionic Woman was a successful spin-off of the
Six Million Dollar Man. Jaime Sommers
love interest, Steve Austin, becomes a cyborg and goes to work
for Oscar. Great show especially loved it as a kid when they
brought in the Bionic Dog. The Bionic couple ranked #19 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends".
The Bionic Woman lasted from 1976-1978. |

8. The Lone Ranger
Although the Lone Ranger had no super powers,
neither did Batman, and he did wear a cool mask. So, the Lone
Ranger makes the number 8 spot for just being a hero on and off
screen. Clayton Moore lived by the Lone Ranger Creed and always
lived a good example for kids of all ages.

7. The Adventures
of Superman
The pioneer of super heroes
on television had to be George Reeves as the Man of Steel. A great
actor whose untimely death on June 16, 1959 left kids of the
fifties in shock. After all, kids of that day thought he really was
Superman. Many times children would try to test his
invulnerability by attacking him.

6. Batman
Adam West and Burt Ward made being super heroes look like fun!
When I was a kid I loved those crazy fight scenes with the Bam!
Boom!, and Crack!. Everybody who was anybody wanted a shot guest
starring on the awesome Batman show of the 1960's. It only lasted
3 years, but the show will last forever in reruns.
