Bob Hope 50's -60's Fun Facts

Nobody is more loved than Bob Hope. When Paramount Pictures, Hope's home studio, opened TV station KTLA, the first commercial station west of the Rockies, in 1947, Bob Hope appeared on its first telecast. He has been on television specials ever since. Bob Hope has entertained our troops, and our Presidents. His movies are some of the funniest ever made, especially those road pictures with Bing Crosby and the western he made with Roy Rogers Son of Pale Face is one of my personal favorites.

Bob Hope was born in London. He emigrated with his parents to the USA in 1907. After some years on the stage as a dancer and comedian, he made his first film appearance in The Big Broadcast of 1938 singing "Thanks for the Memory', which became his signature tune.
