Monk stars Tony Shaloub as Adrian Monk, a brilliant
former San Francisco police detective with an obsessive compulsive disorder
that has intensified since the murder of his wife, Trudy, in 1997. Monk now
works as a freelance detective/consultant for the police department, hoping
to convince his former boss, Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine), to allow him
to return to the force.
