Touched by an Angel Star Talks about The Bible Mini Series

The Bible: The Epic Miniseries [Blu-ray]

So far I've watched almost the entire series on Blu-ray. I'm only missing the very last episode. Overall it's my opinion that the show is very entertaining and is close to the spirit of the Bible, even though it's not always seem completely accurate in the details. The messages of the Bible are there for the viewer.

The best episodes I thought were of Abraham, Moses, Daniel, David, and Jesus.

The only segment I found wanting was Samson, and not just because they took the liberty of making that segment politically correct by having a black Samson. Though, I wonder what the odds of that really were historically. The story and effects didn't quite match up there to the image I get reading the Bible. I think it could have been a lot more grander and epic in scale in that particular segment. Although the fighting was fun and exciting Samson didn't fight enough Philistines. In Judges 15:15, he killed a
1000 with a jawbone of an donkey. That would have been a major epic battle. Perhaps, it was too much for their budget.

Here's the verses -
15 And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. 16 And Samson said , With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men. 17 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking , that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.

The Jesus portion is by far the best. They chose a great actor to play Jesus, and these episodes really hit an emotional chord. I particularly liked the scene where Jesus explains how you must be born again. Very well done scene.

As a Christian watching this show, I found the series overall to be very inspirational, and an encouragement. It makes you want to read the Bible more and if you are like me, focus on those details.
