Tim Allen made a big come back with his new show Last Man Standing. His family friendly brand of humor got millions of viewers despite critics being less than enthusiastic. Critics aren't much for family friendly anyway.

"Last Man" averaged a respectable 13 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. That was good enough for a strong second behind CBS' monster hit "NCIS" (18.6 million).

In the crucial adults aged 18-to-49 demographic, "Last Man" drew a solid 3.5 rating ("NCIS" logged a 3.9). And the audience grew over the show's one-hour premiere special. Overall, it was the best debut for an 8 p.m. comedy anywhere on network TV in the last seven years. Info from latimes site

Officially Last Man Standing joins the ranks of the Middle as the only new comedies I watch on television. These shows relate so well to average people and the kind of things we run into. Tim Allen is now the voice of the people as far as I'm concerned.

On the show he has a video blog where he rants about the state of affairs for the modern man. It's the most true and hilarious stuff I've ever heard. The only thing missing was some explosions. I hope Tim can throw some of that great physical comedy into the mix that he had on Home Improvement.

I love how he addresses modern issues from the average guy perspective instead of some kind of Hollywood insider.

The modern King of Comedy is back!

Check out the Last Man Standing Hulu page for episodes and clips if you missed it on television.

Here's my favorite clip.

Tim Allen's still got it! I was hoping for more of his vlog ranting in last night's episode, but no such luck. It was still pretty funny though. I sure hope they don't make that baby go back to that crazy daycare...he may be warped for life if he spends much time in that place. Kyle, the kid that works in the sporting goods store, totally cracks me up too!
