Chuck Gets 13 Episode Pick Up!

Monday night skein “Heroes,” for example, was given a smaller, 19-episode order and will share the 8 p.m. slot with cult fave “Chuck,” which was given just a 13-episode pickup.

Silverman cited the net’s early “infront” meetings with advertisers for steering the net toward renewing bubble skeins “Law and Order” and “Chuck” (which, the net admitted, was also the beneficiary of a rabid Twitter campaign).

“The hands were raised across the country for those shows to return,” Silverman said.

As part of the “Chuck” renewal, the Peacock also sealed a major marketing deal with Subway (which was at the heart of a massive “Save Chuck” campaign). Under the pact, Subway will be integrated in the show -- one character will work for the sandwich chain -- and other advertising tie-ins will be launched.

Alright! Chuck's my favorite show on tv right now. Its the only show I watch that mixes action with comedy. I wonder if the first of those episodes are good, if they will order another set of episodes, because 13 is not a full season. I think Season 1 was only that short because of that stupid writer's strike.

Just in!

At the NBC executive panel, Angela Bromstad, the net's president of primetime, said that reports of an early return for Chuck have been somewhat exaggerated. Season 3 will run for 13 episodes beginning in March.

But there was a glimmer of hope. In a larger conversation about the relative successes and failures of shows like The Listener, The Philanthropist and Merlin this summer, Bromstad discussed the possibility of extending Chuck's episode order to help launch a more high-profile summer 2010 slate. "Right now we're asking ourselves: Is this something we let run into the summer season?" she said. "But we haven't decided."

I thought Merlin was pretty good. I've been watching that show every week. I don't about those other two though, The Philanthropist and The Listener.

I've been watching Merlin and the Listener. Haven't watched the Philanthropist at all.

I've never even heard of the Listener before. So what other good summer shows have been on lately? I've just been watching Merlin, Leverage, and Warehouse 13.

Eureka is good. It's like Mayberry's Andy Griffith meets a town of Einsteins. Oh and Burn Notice is an excellent action show. Monk and Psych should be about to come on here this month.

I guess I got started too late on Burn Notice. There was a marathon a few weeks ago and I watched the pilot. It was pretty good. I waited for #2 but it never came on.

Leverage is a great show. Its about this group of criminals that use their talents to help people.

Have to check it out.

Another thing I liked about Leverage was that they had a 13 episode first season in December, then began their 15 episode second season in the middle of July. I thought that was cool cause you don't have to wait that long for the next season.

Which network is Leverage on?

That's cool. I can't remember how good the pilot is, but a lot of those episodes are awesome. I really like the characters in the show too. Some of them are pretty funny.
