Ah, yes, the Princess of the Amazons. The Amazing Amazon. Her alias in society is Diana Prince, but she is best known as Wonder Woman.
The Wonder Woman television series was must viewing in quite a lot of households across the country back in the late 1970s.
In its own way, it was a patriotic show.
The show featured Lynda Carter, in those red, white and blue satin tights, fighting evil every day.
And, in a sense, the time in which the series aired was just magical, especially 1977.
All the women wated to be like her, or to be her best friend. All the men wante dto be with her or near her.
In some way or another everybody wanted to be Wonder Woman! Even I wanted to be Wonder Woman! And I am male!
To this day, Lynda is always amazed, after talking to fairly young people that know who she is, hearing these really touching stories.
We've handed the legend down to our younger counterparts, through the television series.
I admit, at the age of 13, I had a crush on Wonder Woman, and as such, I became a fan of Lynda. But I couldn't tell my parents, because they would have thought I was crazy. Especially my father, who didn't believe in crushes!
She was the truest super hero, in every sense of the word!
For many, this was the first time we got to see a woman tha was tough, powerful, and strong!
Oh, those quick reflexes she had to deflect bullets with her bracelets!
And the Golden Lasso of Truth! That was her greatest weapon!
Her transportation hallmark was of course, the Invisible Plane. She had to have that.
To this day, I cherish the show, and I would be willing to base my whole adult life on her teachings.
I love you, Wonder Woman.
You're still a Wonder to me!
