According to tvguide.com, CBS is working on an updated version of Hawaii Five-O. They plan to keep it as close to the original as possible. The show will be filmed in Hawaii, but the team will no longer be lead by Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord), but by his son Chris. The role hasn't been cast yet. The theme song will be back, but jazzed up a bit.
The original Hawaii Five-O aired on CBS for 12 seasons, from 1968-1980, and held the record for longest-running crime drama until Law & Order surpassed it five years ago.
What do you think? I never watched the original much, but the theme song is pretty cool. I'll probably give this one a shot. The article didn't say when the show would be airing, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
