I LOVE THE SATURDAY MORNING SHOW THAT USED TO COME ON EVERY SATURDAY WHICH WAS SHAZAM! I STILL DO LOVE IT TOO, I MISS SEEING IT ON TV I KNOW THERE IS A MOVIE BEING DONE OF THE SHOW BUT IN MY OPINION THE ORIGINAL IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST SO WHY MESS WITH THE BEST ONED THERE IS WHICH IS THE ORIGINAL.ALWAYS,DEBRA.

I loved the old show too, but I'm excited about the new movie. I'm hoping they'll put Shazam on DVD like they've done Isis I guess until then I'll have to make due with the 1940's Captain Marvel DVD set I just bought. It actually has some pretty good effects for such an old movie serial. One thing it's missing so far is the echo effect when he yells Shazam.

Those were the days when Saturday morning was about the only time a kid could watch cartoons and superhero shows. No 24 hour cartoon network back then.

I actually talked to Jackson Bostwick at a comic book convention once.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT VERSION OF THE OLD SHAZAM I DO KNOW YOU CAN GO TO JACKSON BOSTWICK'S WEBSITE AND ORDER A DVD OF SHAZAM WITH FIVE OF HIS FAVORITE EPISODES ON IT WHICH I ALREADY HAVE I AM VERY PROUD TO SAY! I WOULD SURE LOVE TO MEET HIM AND ALSO JOHN DAVEY TOO. I HAVE WONDERED WHATEVER HAPPENED TO JOHN DAVEY? I THOUGHT BOTH GUYS WERE FANASTIC AS CAPTAIN MARVEL I CANNOT PICK A FAVORITE CAUSE THEY BOTH ARE MY FAVORITES. I DON'T THINK I COULD FORCE MYSELF TO SEE THE NEW MOVIE BEING DONE OF SHAZAM I ONLY KNOW IN MY HEART THE ORIGINAL IS THE BEST! One good thing that comes from movies like that is usually the older series are released to DVD to help promote the movie so we might see the whole Shazam series released at that time.

At least that's how it worked with Superman Returns. There were tons of TV DVD releases for that movie like the 80's Superboy, Lois and Clark, George Reeves, the deluxe Christopher Reeve sets, etc.
