Sort of a 'Detective Lite' series about a homicide-solving doctor, "Diagnosis Murder" (1993-2001), a spin-off of "Murder She Wrote", owed it's long run primarily to the amazing Dick Van Dyke, who, I swear, has aged better than anybody since Cary Grant! I loved one episode, where an aging but still formidable Mike Connors reprised his role as "Mannix", 18 years after the last episode aired (it was fabulous, and even served as a sequel to an episode of the earlier series). Still, I always half-expected Van Dyke to break into a chorus of "Chim Chim Cheree", or see Mary Tyler Moore appear, gushing, "Oh, Rob!" |
