Batman: Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition Video Games

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Batman Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition
When you open this package, there are a few items that are great and not so great.

-The Amazon exclusive bonus comic "The Road to Arkham" was a great touch, like icing on a cake.
-The outer plastic sleeve/box is very sturdy.
-The batarang box is very cool looking and is semi-functional; you can put your junk in it and that's pretty much it.
-The batarang is just a scratched up (effects to make it look "used by the Batman") piece of plastic on a stand, which is also made of plastic.
-The downloadable content is great, adding a few hours of artificial replay value.
-The leather Arkham Journal is actually very nicely made, especially in comparison to the batarang.
-The Bonus disc, in my opinion, doesn't have enough content.
-The game is a gem, once you get used to the button controls it's the best Batman game you could ask for. The Challenge mode keeps you playing for a while after completing the campaign, but the Story mode is the bread and butter. The story is fun to play through, even though the generic henchmen all look and behave the same way. It is definitely a game that you should keep on your shelf for a while.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing game, amazing edition
To start off, I would like to thank DC, Eidos, and Rocksteady for providing me with one of the greatest games ever made. I bought my collector's edition from Wal-Mart, so it didn't come with the comic book, but nevertheless, it came with everything else. I don't know why people are knocking the batarang replica. I think it's awesome. Some people say it's too cheaply made, but of course it's just going to be a wall flower. and the scratches do make it look and feel like it has been used by the Dark Knight. I think the the leather bound Penny Young is an awesome edition. You have all of the characters featured in the game with psych profiles, and art, and it's pretty cool seeing it in the perspective of a doctor that interviewed them instead of from someone like Batman. One little insight I'd like to point out about the journal is that on the first profile page is the Joker, and the last Page we have Batman. Amazing stuff. Then you have the digi-pak of the game and the blu-ray bonus disc. I liked the extra features, and everything on the blu-ray, and the option to play everything all at once, but just fumbling around with the game disc on my XMB menu, I saw in the video section that the game disc popped up with all the same features and trailers that was on the blu-ray bonus disc. It kinda urked me a little bit, but I thought to myself, well, if I didn't buy the collector's edition, I wouldn't have the challenge map or the exclusive armor costume for Batman, which are cool codes as well. Regarding those downloadable codes that came with the collector's edition, The challenge map for Crime alley is amazing, I haven't checked it out yet, but I was watching one of my friends play through it, and it's great visually, and the objective was awesome. The armor costume code looks pretty killer as well, and I haven't beaten the game yet, but hope fully the second time through, It would be pretty sweet to see batman in that costume the next time. Those are the contents that came with the Wal-Mart edition of the collector's set. I would say my money was pretty well spent. We've all read other reviews of the game, and we know it's badass. I love the gameplay. The graphics are top notch, the voice acting is like I'm wathing a movie, and the cutscenes are spectacular. I ain't even 25% done with the game, and I'm just having a killer time playing the hell out of it. buy it if you want something to comemorate this awesome Batman release.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good game, a little short, don't get special edition
This game is freaking fun. I've only seen one other good batman game which was for the old gameboy color so I was very leery of getting it but I'm glad I did. It is a little short and I'd like to see more action with the original baddies but the game in itself is very solid and very, very fun. It's not worth the collectors edition seeing as the extra content is minimal but the game is fantastic, worth every penny if you don't get the collector's edition.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great game ok CE
This game is great. The graphics the controls the atmosphere all are very well done. As far as the collectors edition I would say pass. Sure the Batarang is cool, but not sure its worth the extra money, but the game in general is a must play.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bats is back with a score to settle.
After playing countless of crappy superhero games, I am extremely happy to say that somebody has finally got the formula right. Rocksteady has done an excellent job in bringing not just Batman but a part of his universe and his #1 fan/nemesis correct (The Joker). I 100% recommend this if you are a big fan of both Metal Gear Solid and Metroid because it has a very nice blend of both games with a touch of Bioshock in the visual department. Even if you're not a fan of mentioned title I still recommend this 100% because it is definetly a must play game and something that will probably end up with the Game of the Year award.
