I bought this little TV for my bedroom. I don't watch TV, but I do view a lot of dvds. I was surprised at how light this unit is. The picture quality is superb. I am also very pleased with the dvd function. It loads quickly and easily and has features that my old unit did not such as a memory function that returns to the last place viewed when you remove the dvd and insert it again. Perhaps some day I will purchase an antenna or subscribe to cable and find out how the tv functions work. For now, I am happy with this product for the uses I need.

I wanted a TV for my kitchen counter. I have very limited counter space so this TV is perfect for the area I have. This TV is a great value for the price. It is very easy to set up. The built in DVD player is very easy to use. The sound quality with audio CD's is great. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone who has limited or unlimited space!Toshiba 15LV505 15.6-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with Built-in DVD Player (Black)

I bought this little TV for my husband's bedside. The 19" Toshiba is currently only $10 more but I needed something small. It's small enough for him to watch it from two feet away. The picture is crisp and the colors bright. Sound doesn't get too high since the speakers are low and down, but we don't need high volume. It's our first HDTV and we are in love. We will eventually buy a larger Toshiba model when the prices for the bigger ones drop more next spring.
The start-up is a little slow and since we don't have cable, the search for analog/digital stations takes a while. I haven't yet found the perfect offair antenna for this one yet to watch NBC out of Tucson, though. This is a minor complaint for an otherwise great quality TV.
The DVD player also works well but I've yet to figure out how to use the remote with the DVD.
Highly recommend for a desk-top, counter-top or other small space.

Quick Review: after pondering for awhile, I've decided to give this five stars because it's the best 15-inch LCD HDTV-DVD combo I could find. That's not saying a lot... at this size, the available choices are pretty limited. Still, if this type of setup is what you need, I think it's the best choice. It may be a little more expensive than others, but the quality is worth the extra money.
For a few years now, I've been using a 15-inch 4:3 Polaroid TV (yes, such a thing was available when I bought it)and an inexpensive Sony DVD on my computer desk. The combination was okay... the size was perfect, the picture quality was better than a CRT and the sound was good enough. Still, I wanted wide-screen... and even though I normally like keeping my components separate, if I could save space by getting a set with a good DVD built-in, so much the better.
After researching the market, this Toshiba combo stood out above the rest... not by a little, but by a lot. A lot of top-tier manufacturers sell both good TVs and DVD players, but Toshiba is (from what I found) the only one that makes a combo at this size. The quality shows. The picture is very nice, the DVD has been flawless so far, and the build is solid.
Pretty much the only thing that's really lacking is sound quality. Unfortunately, that's pretty typical of TVs this size. Then again, it's okay for watching sports and some DVDs while working at my desk... I didn't expect that the built-in speakers would blow me away.
I've read a few complaints, but I can't really comment because they don't apply to me. It's advertised here as playing DivX, but if it does, I haven't figured out how. And some say it's slow to change channels, but I don't know... I've never used it without an HD box from the cable company.
Bottom line: all in all, I'm very happy with this set. It does what it needs to do.

I received my TV in perfect shape, hooked it up, and have been watching it ever since. Everything has been
great so far.
