I looked for a tv to replace an old panasonic 9" for our kitchen. This tv was a great choice, very very satisfied.

Just unboxed one, plugged it in, and it will NOT read Divx discs (i.e. avi files) I have tried dvd-r and dvd+r discs, just to make sure it was not a compatability problem.
Unfortunately, the Divx feature was the ONLY reason that I chose this TV over any other. I have not called Toshiba's hotline (it's Saturday night.) but I am not expecting any great outcome.
Other than that, the picture and sound are fine for a 17" tv. But the Divx selling point was THE MOST important feature to me, and hot having the feature is a deal breaker for me.

Bought this after reading lots of other reviews. They are very accurate.
Perfect picture - forget about the 720P, that's all you will want
Nice clear sound - I'm a little hard of hearing and this is easy to listen to

Very slow when surfing channels
DVD works perfectly

Perfect for TV in a small room or RV
Easy to set up and use
Screen cannot be rotated up or down
Has no quality equivalent in this size
Costs less at Amazon than any poorer quality set at Walmart, Best Buy, etc.

I was initially somewhat leery of making this purchase. The reviews concerning problems with the sound volume were an issue with me. I've now been using this television for a couple of weeks and am completely satisfied with its performance. I use it on a table adjacent to my computer, approx. five feet away from where I sit. The sound volume is more than ample for me, and the picture is excellent. The accompanying manual was easy to follow and the setup was straightforward. Haven't yet used the DVD player. But as far as the TV goes, so far, so good.
