I ordered this product thinking finally a Capt. America figure worth adding to my son's large marvel collection. When it arrived it was a figure without a mask. Totally misrepresented on the website. My advice is that you check with the seller before ordering to be sure you are getting the right one. The rest of the figure was awesome but who wants Capt. America without the cool mask??

Very happy with the quality of this figure. It's just as great-looking 'in person' as it is in its promotional photo-which seems to be a rare thing nowadays. I'm not sure how durable it is, since all I have it doing is decorating my shelf. Cap comes with a base, pistol, shield(of course), canteen, and knife. My only 'complaint' is that there's only space for either the knife or canteen on Cap's utility belt, and they are a little loose when added. Also, Cap's shield can only be fitted to his arm--it would have been nice to be able to fit it to his back as well, although now I'm just being picky I suppose. This was my first Marvel Select figure, and it won't be my last.

The paint work is great but the sculpture of the face is not up to speed. I recommend this figure only because it's the best there is of Cap out there...for now! The arms are rather skinny in porportion to the chest girth too! I would give this figure a 7.5 out of 10. It would have been less if the paint wasn't so superb!

This Captain America from Marvel Select sports an excellent sculpt and paint application. Sadly though, the articulation is not on par with the recently released Hulk or Thor figures. This figure has no balljoints except in the shoulder. This makes it very difficult to find natural standing positions or action poses. What makes it worse is there is not cut in the thigh or swivels at the boot. So, this figure remains a slightly poseable statue. Marvel Select has really done well this year on a couple of figures and struck out on a couple. I hope they stick with the formula they used for Thor and Hulk. This Captain America figure would have been perfect with a few balljoints here and there. I recommend it for hardcore fans only.

UPDATED: Originally I complained about the articulation but the Marvel Select Figure Line is about great sculpts with varying degrees of figure articulation(poses) so with that in mind I would rate him a five and not a four. It is a statue that has features of an action figure. And although it does not have ball-joints in places like Thor and Iron Man from this line it is still worth the money and a great likeness of the Alex Ross designed new Captain America and is highly recommended. I waited for the Marvel Select Captain America for months. When it finally was released I was very pleased with the painting applications and sculpting of this figure. I also own the Marvel Select Thor and Iron Man so I expected the articulation to be similar between the figures. Where Thor and Iron Man have ball and socket joints for the elbows and hips and knees the Captain America figure only has hinge joints for the elbows and the cut of the waist only allows the legs to slightly bend forward. The knees are also hinge joints so there is less movement that can be done with the legs unless you like Captain America to have a squatting action poses most of the time. Another problem the included extra knife and canteen falls off easily and even one of the permanent pieces on his belt/waist came off and had to be glued on mine. This figure could have been great like Thor or Iron Man if the articulation had been better but having said that it is a great looking piece and with some work you can get it into some decent poses just not as many if the articulation was better. Overall score: 5 out of 5.
