I was born in the 70's, hence I do not remember anything of substance about the decade. I'm told that this show missed a lot of the essence and fun of that interesting decade, but I am still a guarded (PG-style content)fan of the show.
This DVD set is really hilarious at times, other times it is slow and drags on. I was glad to see a couple old characters leave for they were boring and seemed to distract from the humor and the theme.
At this current price it's worth the price because about one-half of the episodes are really funny. And one must see how it all wraps up!

Being a huge That '70s Show fan I will say I can not tolerate to watch season 8. I can't watch because it breaks my heart to see a once endearing show turn into a joke. Losing Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher was enough, but to disrespect fans with "Randy" and "Sam" was the kill.
I still love the series as a whole, it was one of the most realistic, funniest, most poignant sitcoms ever. But season 8 was like a bad dream.

I am someone who loves and is a fan of seasons 1-7 of That 70s Show and the show in general. After watching the last season of this show and reading the reviews I agree and disagree with other people.
First of all I don't get why people completely hate it. Yes it's going to go down as the worst season because Eric (Topher Grace) and Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) aren't there. Nothing can replace them or even come close to seasons 1-7. That's fine. But storylines aren't the strength of this show anyways. The dumb but really funny comedy and smoking circles are the strength of this show. And that will always be there. A lot of stuff they do they would have done if Eric and Kelso were there anyways. And you have to remember Topher and Ashton chose to leave the show so they did the best they could.
Also the finale is very good. Kelso and Eric both come back and I thought it was an awesome way to show in their own discreet way that Eric and Donna. will always probably be together. Also it finishes nicely for the other characters. If you don't at least like the finale I don't think you can call yourself a fan of the show.
Now there are some things I didn't like. Even though I like the personality of Randy. He completely doesn't fit in with these guys. Saying that the gang barely ever had communication with anyone outside of the group it's a little weird. Also I hated how they ended things with Jackie and Hyde. As much as I loved those two together I don't mind Jackie ending up with Fez. I find it both cool and ironic. Hyde and her never got it together. I just hated how they ended it. I just hoped that it would end better and more real then him
marrying a stripper. That's just a joke. It doesn't make sense on any level.
He tells Jackie he's not ready to get married. Then he stays married to a
random stripper because she's a stripper. That's probably what I hate the
most. Other then that it's just the lack of presence of Eric and Hyde.
But overall this whole show is friggin amazing. I will always love it. Like I said the 8th is probably the worst because of characters. But don't fool yourself
the comedy is still good so I still enjoyed it as much as I could. Especially the finale. This will always be the number 1 stoner show man.

Let me start by saying that I am/was, the BIGGEST "that 70's show" fan ever to live. I went thru a cpl yrs where I watched hours of shows EVERY single night and knew almost each episode by heart.lol. So, I felt more at home with these characters than I think I have with any other show. When Eric left at the end of season 7, I knew season 8 wouldnt make it. Lets face it..Eric is the center of this group, They're HIS friends, HIS family, HIS house and basement...come on people! Kelso..I could have accepted not being around as much for one season..but both of them?, it showed the producers had gone nuts. Season 8 started off not too badly, most of the first episode was pretty good, gave me high hopes that maybe I would be wrong. BUT, when Hyde and Jackie seemed to be saying that they were going to try to be together..(which made me so happy!!)..RIGHT b4 that creepy stripper came in, and Hyde STILL decided not to have it annulled and to be with the stripper he had NO MEMORY of knowing or caring about?? Instead of Jackie, who he loved?? Well, that clinched it. The show fell so far off the mark of good writing and high standards..it broke my heart. And still does!! I almost wanted to cry when I saw what they were doing to the characters we all came to love. Fez' whole character, since the beginning, was he was a weird nerdy guy who never got the girl. To suddenly change him to a big buff ladiesman?? Are they serious? RUINED his character for me. He needed to mature alittle also, because sometimes he just seemed retarded and WAY too old to be acting the way he did. He should have matured abit but still stayed the same geeky hilarious weirdo at heart. His whole character went down the tubes. And to break up Donna and Eric and put her with some random guy they decided was "enough like Eric" to make us happy..ummm..NOOO it did not make us happy! DID IT?? He was lame, and I agree, his being instantly accepted made the whole group seem not as tight or cool as we used to think. And..did anyone else feel it was pretty disloyal to Eric? to the guy whose house they were in, whose family they had become a part of? I didnt mind Fez and Jackie "tryin it out together" for abit, just because they had led up to it for so long in a way..that might have actually been fun for just alittle bit...but..to actually end up together ..was..ok, Ill say it again..LAME!!! Hyde and Jackie belonged together..poor Hydes character was left to be ruined as a jerk who wasnt at all as good a guy as we thought he had become..and Donna I guess meant so little that she could just be thrown at any new guy who happened into town to replace Eric. Sigh. Why would they do these horrible things to our beloved show? What Hyde did to Jackie, with the stripper, made him seem like we never knew him at all and he wasnt what we thought, and I felt SOOO bad for her, not having any respect at all and it seemed to so undervalue the love they had. If they HAD to put her with someone else in the end, it should have been Kelso again..I could have accepted that i suppose..but Fez?...that was just wrong. Donna and Randy the new wannabe Eric? That was even more wrong, and Hyde and the stripper? THAT was the worst wrong that could have been done to this show.. It was so wrong it hurt.. All in all..Season 8 SUCKED!!! I actually am very sorry I saw it at all. It tainted the love for the show and the characters I had had for so long. I SO wanted it to end in a great way. The finale was better than the rest but not nearly enough to make what they did to this awesome show OK. I would recommend to anyone that you either stop at season 7, or watch only the first and last episode of season 8. This will save you alot of heartache I swear to you. Season 8 disrespected the show and all the characters we loved, and if you just stop at the 7th season, then maybe the stupid writers and producers wont break your heart with how they ruin all the great work they did for 7 yrs. HOW SAD.
