I used to love watching this show as a 12 y.o kid. It was very popular over here in Australia. I couldn't wait to buy the set when it became available and I certainly wasn't disappointed. If you loved the show, you can't go wrong buying this set!

I had no idea that they put VOYAGERS! (1982-83) out on DVD but they have. I have been waiting for them to put this out or for the Sci-Fi channel to play it. I have all ways wanted to see the rest of the series.
I remember watching this show on Saturday afternoons on WUAB channel 43 at about 2 pm. It was on for one season. Some shows you kinda remember you go -- oh yeah I kinda remember that show. Well this show I remember the opening section -- when Jeffery is struggling with Phineas and falls out the window. This starts the whole show.
It is a cross between "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" meets "Journeyman" and "Quantum Leap". It introduces kids and even most likely some adults to different people throughout history.
To quote "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"
I feel "giddy as a school boy."
If you have never seen this show you need to see it... if not just to see punky brewster's half brother play jeffery.
It is just to bad it ended after 20 episodes and that Jon-Erik Hexum shot himself in the head with a prop gun while he was joking around.
I just wish they would have put a few special features on this dvd set... a retrospective... interviews with surviving cast members... commentary.... something.

Just as I remembered it. I loved all the history trivia built into the shows. Entertaining and educational. Sometimes you go back and watch a show you loved as a kid and wonder why? Not this one I enjoyed as much now as I did when I watched it orginally.

I am an avid dvd collector. I promised myself years ago that if a certain three titles became available on dvd that I would severely slow down my purchasing habits. Well it finally happened, they all have been released on one format or another. The first dvd release that was on the list was "Night Of The Comet" which was a long time in coming. Then yesterday "The Jungle Book" came out on dvd again and I was able to finally add it to my collection. Which leads us to "Voyagers!" the final title on the list.(I really like 'B' movies and tv shows. I don't collect many tv shows, but this was one I have been waiting for a long time.)I was 11 at the time and from the first episode I was hooked on the show. I remember I made an "omni" with some metal, masking tape and paint. I'm sure the other kids in school thought I was a geek, but I didn't care, the show actually got me interested in school and especially history. I only had Canadian television and I remember the show being prempted all the time and I only saw probably 4 episodes before it was eventually cancelled. The same thing happened when "V" the series was on tv, it was a nightmare, I would sit around patiently waiting through the shows that I didn't care to watch and then it was time for "V" and hockey or some boring candian political show would air instead. Anyway, Now I have both tv shows on dvd and I can see them whenever I want. On a side note I also really liked this sci-fi drama tv series called "The Starlost". This was also on my "list" but I decided a while ago that the industry would never commit to an offical dvd release. The show was produced in Canada back in the 70's that I watched it religiously in the early 80's. After much research on the internet over the years I have come to the conclusion that "The Starlost" didn't have a great following or high ratings hence the 16 episodes, but always dreamed of seeing the show again and I finally discovered a site that offered the series as a public domain property. Good things DO come to those who wait!

The show we fondly remember with Meeno Peluce as Jeff the "smart-kid" who listened in school and the well-intentioned but historically inept Bogg played by the late Jon-Erik Hexum. Jeff serves as their only guide through time, fixing history. Much like the "Magic Tree House" series serves today as an elementary students overview of pop history, Voyagers! is flashing or particularly clever, but it remains surprisingly "timely" in the family-sci-fi genre. The music may be as over-the-top as some of the dialogue, at times formulaic, over all, still a great show.
We've got a green light, kids!
