I remember this show when I was a kid. I still think it is one of the best kid shows ever. I wish that the Sci-Fi Channel would bring it back on.

Just the straight facts about the DVD:
1. Five episodes per disc. Four discs = all 20 original episodes.
2. Although the footage shows a dash of age with a some graininess, it is much much more crisp than any VHS / Beta recording from back in the day. (To give you an idea -- you can freeze frame and read the months and numbers on the omni!) Plus, the colors look pretty good for an 80s show that sat in the archives.
3. Sound is quality is good, especially for what was originally recorded in mono -- no hiss or the like.
4. One reviewer on here complained that the commercial breaks were badly edited out. That is untrue. The DVD transfer is clearly sourced from the original recordings. It is simply a stylistic feature of many older shows that commercial breaks were made to be very obvious; such breaks seem clunky to our eyes because they lack perfect continuity. (I suspect that that was to allow "leg room" for local commercials to be cued in / synced by an engineer in a local station room.)
For an excellent lowdown on the whole set with screencaps and pics of the discs, visit the site "ultimatedisney" and search for Voyagers. The site's review links back to Amazon's page here, so fear not about heading there for more info.

This series was a fond memory of my childhood. I love the premise and the two main actors were great. I didn't even mind that I may be learning something about history in the process. Truly one short lived show. Should have lasted longer so it could develop more. Seems to me that any type of show that is both action/adventure but also teaches you something always gets passed over. I wonder if this is more an issue with the executives than the fans. Remember the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles? TV can be educational and fun as this show proved. Aside from a few saturday morning shows, there was little on tv that had much to offer that didn't talk down to kids. This show seemed like it was aimed at kids and adults. One thing I thought that it showed was that kids have something to offer if adults would just listen. Though Boggs was the one in charge of the time travel it was the kid who had a lot of the answers. So they benefited each other very well. Anyway this is a great dvd to buy to watch and have fun If I were the history channel (which I love) I would try to include this in my lineup because it shows how learning history can be fun and addictive. Just wanted to add also that Hexum died on the set of Cover Up which took place after this series. I think they needed to keep Voyagers on a lot longer. The show, just like the actor, left us way too soon.

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS SHOW WHEN IT WAS ON NETWORK TV AND SHAME THAT IT DIDN'T LAST PAST 20 SHOWS BEFORE IT ENDED. BUT I GUESS THAT WAS THE NEILSON RATINGS THAT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. I FEEL IT COULD BE A LITTLE CHEAPER SINCE IT WAS ONLY 20EPS. BUT IT GOOD ANY WAY I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY IT.

Great that they finally released the series, and indeed I would have given it five stars (even without any extras to speak of) it were not for the haphazard way they edited around the commercial spots. Granted, they're not cutting out much material, but it was totally obvious when they edited out the commercial spots in certain episodes as I did miss the cliffhanger. Can't understand why this was done in this day of dual-layer media (certainly can't say it was done for space consideration on the disc). It would have been less trouble (I would have thought, using common sense here) to just leave the episodes intact as presented on the masters.
