NOT cover bands as suggested above. A truly excellent collection. Each and every title a must-have hit. These songs will create a trip back in time for many. Now, the downside. . . the quality of the CDs is lacking in many respects. You can certainly tell they were mass produced. Many songs sound like they were recorded through a tin can. Many stereo attributes do not come through on the discs. There are times when the music drowns out the vocalist as one track is recorded to the discs louder than the other.
Time-Life has made a mess of what could have been a wonderful collection. The price of [...] bucks is way too high for the quality of the product. You would do better by waiting for this collection to end up in the cut outs or anything that would bring the price down to about $[...] or $[...] but no more.
For shame Time-Life - You blew it!

Where can I find the originals for some of these tracks?
I'm tired of download services offering cover versions of songs with an artist's name next to the track. Let's get honest, Amazon. Yes it's "Band of Gold," but is that Freda Payne??? Yes, it's "One Toke Over the Line," but is that really Brewer & Shipley??? That is NOT the Ozark Mt. Daredevils, The Foundations or Badfinger.

I dont know what these other reviewers have been smoking but there is nothing wrong with these cd's. I received the whole set of cd's...all the music was on it. I had absolutely no problems.
One reviewer claimed she didnt get all the cd's from the seller. Well, thats not a problem with the cd, thats a problem with the seller.
The other reviewer claimed that there were artists which he liked that were not on the cd. Well, did he bother to check out all the songs before he made the purchase???
Somethings obviously a miss with these opinions folks. I received what I paid for..the music was fantastic and all songs that were promised on this website WERE ON THE CD.
Having grown up in the 80's, these songs remind me of sweet days and I look forward to hearing them over the summer. I would definitely reccommend these CD's!!!!!!!! Be sure however to purchase these from a seller who has a high rating as I did...

This product sounded great when I ordered it, but what was supposed to be eleven CDs - for over $100 - turned out to be one CD. I returned it, asking for my money back, and now I have no CDs and no refund...

to be honest this is one of the best collection music from the 70-80's but the list music do not mach with the cd playing list ,I think is a factory error. and some cd's are on the wrom case .- for such a great music collection. plus they miss a lot of the best of 70-80'' like castle in the air don mclean. bob seger maint street-againt the wing. and many many moore classic song's '.for this price all those songs should be includ it.ist's a sham
