I was just a little curious as to what this show sounded like in Japanese. It is the funniest thing I ever heard. First of all the voice actor they got to play Goku sounds retarded. I mean in all of Japan could the not find someone that A)had a deeper voice, or B)at least gone through puberty. This guy, especially when he's yelling, sounds like a gremlin. I missed most of the show because I was laughing so hard. If you have never watched this show in Japanese please do so, it's a riot.

I've been a diehard "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall", and "DragonBall GT" fan ever since I was six years old and I love this DVD boxset! In this boxset, the Frieza Saga is in it. Continuing from where the Namek Saga and the Captain Ginyu Saga left off, Goku and the rest of the good guys are still on Namek, trying to stop Frieza, one of my favorite villains from "DragonBall Z", find the Dragon Balls and wish for immortality so he can rule the universe/world. Eventually, Piccolo is revived, he becomes a Super Namek after semi-fusing with Nail, another Namek, and the good guys battle against Frieza. Throughout the saga, Gohan and Krillin increase their power levels, Frieza battles against them, transforming from his first form to his second, third, and his fourth and final form, and eventually battles Goku, and this leads to the Garlic Jr., Trunks, and Android Sagas in the next boxset. You get all of the episodes from Season Three (The Frieza Saga) in this boxset, such as "Password is Porunga", where Frieza tries to find the Namekian password for their dragon, Porunga, and while Frieza is about to transform into his second form, he asks an annoyed Vegeta to give him a countdown to transform, and Vegeta does that, which is very funny, the one where Frieza transforms into his second form and attacks the good guys, the one where Frieza transforms into his third form and attacks Piccolo and Krillin, the one where Frieza transforms into his fourth and final form and battles against Goku, and the one where Frieza and Goku battle each other on the about-to-explode planet Namek. The only things that I miss from the boxset are that there isn't a scene selection feature and the American music that Bruce Faulconer made isn't on there, but the show is still amazing! I love this boxset and I can't wait to get it and the rest of the "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" boxsets that I don't have yet!

Let me start off by saying this...If you are worried about buying this set because of the well known "cropping-issue" don't be. It's not nearly as bad as most people make it out to be. I finished watching it and there was not one instance where I could point out that it had in fact been cropped from the original episodes. I had to go online and find the comparisons to even notice. So yes there is cropping but in my opinion it in no way took away from the amazing experience of watching DBZ.
These episodes remastered are almost perfect. The only problem I have with them (and with all the sets thereafter) is the fact that the voice acting in the remastered version has been changed. In season 1 and 2 this was the best feature being as when these episodes originally aired it was with a different set of voice actors then Freiza saga on. Having the audio done over was amazing. There are instances, however in Season 3 onward where they have redone the voice acting in certain parts and it doesn't feel quite the same. For example there are several instances where Gohan and Vegetas voice doesn't sound right. Kinda like the voice actor couldn't get the voice to sound like it had years ago when these episodes were first dubbed. All in all it doesn't change much of the experience. Just kinda a nuisance for hardcore fans.
All in all if you are a DBZ fanatic do not hesitate to buy!!

this is the worst season of dbz, and i love dbz but i have to say this one sucks! its just trash talk from freiza and little outbursts of angry fighting. it is boring and was not enjoyable , with one exception, when goku started smacking freiza around like a hoe
