Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer Video Games

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Game 5 Stars!
Got this game for my son and we both play it together. Its great for the price.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - OK, nice try
Its a nice try by 2K to make a Superhero game but they did not really pull it off. A mediocre Game and a easy challenge. Not a A Grade Game But descent.

The campaign is short and easy other than the few times you have no idea what to do and considering how simple the game is thats sad. The game also has ZERO 360Live Features.

Another Movie-To-Game Disaster.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's a teen rated game...
... which is probably why the good ol' 4-6 year old kids might have some trouble with the button pushing and combo attacks. Just a thought there.

I found the game to be good- you get to play the Fantastic Four and use all of their abilities. It is pretty much what I expected from a video game born from a movie title, you know? I didn't find the camera angles to be an issue and I really enjoyed the level where 'Mr. Flame-On' flew through the volcano. It's entertaining fun for children who are old enough to enjoy chaining together combos instead and a little complexity in battle instead of just one note smashing combat with a multitude of character/costume choices (aka Marvel Ultimate Alliance- it's got a really cool intro screen and it's a shame that's what Activision decided to blow their budget on that one CG sequence and nothing else in the game is of that quality.). I have played Fantastic Four ROTSS and I know plenty of families that have enjoyed it as well- and it's been far from confusing for them. Be aware of the game ratings, folks, and know what you want your children playing- many times the enjoyment a person takes away from the game comes from their own personal bias and preferences and does not indicate a horrible gaming experience for someone else or their family.

Cheers~

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not for the whole family
I mainly bought this game so I could play with my 3 kids. And I was excited that up to 4 people can play together at one time. I can't find many were all 3 of my kids can play with me.

But the game is awful, you find yourself doing the same thing over and over. The characters die too easily, and you ended up start over at the begain every time you die; instead of starting right where you die, which is very frustrating.

Biggest problem, for the kids you have to hold down mutli buttons at one time to use special powers, which my 4 year old's little hands can't do. At the end of level 1 we had to battle the big guy before going on to level 2. We tried endlessly to defeat the big guy but just couldn't together (my little one kept dieing to much). I had to have all the kids drop out and had to battle the big guys by myself to defeat him or we would have never moved on. I found myself doing a lot of it on my own and the kids watching.

This game is to difficult for kids under 6 they can't keep up and is to repeatative!! If your looking for a game for 4 kid-players try Ultimate Alliance,it's easier and More FUN!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not worth buying
This game will let down anyone playing it on the 360 - they threw this together in a few weeks and didn't take advantage of the 360's processing power. The graphics are worse than would be expected for the older XBox, the gameplay is lacking, minor bugs hamper gameplay and the game is not much fun. I rented this and beat it in a few hours, picking up a few hundred achievement points in the process, but never found it to be challenging or fun. Rent it if you must, but don't expect to spend more than 5 hours playing it.

Overall - this is a huge letdown, just like most games that are tied into movies. The goal isn't to create a good game, but to have something extra to sell fans the moment the movie comes out. I wish there were some better games based off Marvel Comics... is that so much, as a fan, to ask of the publisher?
