Dark sector is a very good action horror survival , it's not resident evil but is really worthy to be played. The story mode is pretty good , gory and violent everything u want in a videogame but this is not a game to have a good online multiplayer experience . I give it 8.5 out of 10.

This is a game in need of something.. from the very first fire fight it's impossible to miss that all enemies fight in the exact same manner. They shoot, take cover, then finally lean out from their cover to shoot a few more times then duck back again until their demise. They rarely move from their cover and repeatedly you must make the frag in the same manner - over & over popping them while partially hid. It's a extremely nice looking game but because of the lack of enemy AI it quickly feels like assembly line work. Your main hero has a variety of weapons that keeps it interesting for a while but after 3-4 hours of play I find little compelling me to finish it or even play again.

Finally finished it. The game does get repetitious towards the end and I cannot tell you remotely what the story is about. You keep gaining new powers as the levels progress to keep things interesting, but there just isn't enough to make it more entertaining. Biggest compaint I have is that the environments all look the same and aren't too interactive, e.g., you have these powerful weapons but cannot destroy cardboard boxes. A better mix of levels would have helped tremendously. More weapons would have been great too, but you can't accumulate enough money to buy more than 2-3 guns. And all the enemies look pretty much the same and the puzzles get old quick. There are a couple of good boss battles that I'd replay, but that's it. I'd change my rating to 3.5 stars. A definite rental, but then again, it is priced correctly now so you could add to your library and not feel ripped off.
I'm halfway through the game and here are my impressions:
For $20, this is not a bad game to pick up. It plays a lot like Gears but less refined. The graphics are pretty good; the only thing is that the environments and levels are pretty blase--hopefully they get better as most of the levels look very similar. The controls aren't too bad, only thing is that melee stinks and sometimes when you want to go into cover you wind up diving instead, but I had the same problem with Gears at times. Nothing more to add about the glaive or the guns as that's been covered by others.
This game is really under-rated due to it's lack of creativity and being a copycat of other games. That's fine--so give it a 1 for creativity; but that doesn't affect the fun you'd have playing it. If you like slicing and dicing people and don't mind the 3rd person shooter too much, then this is a great pickup at the price.

In short, Dark Sector looks like Gears Of War, the same art direction, there's even a simular roadie-run. But that's where the comparison ends.
Dark Sector for me was very fun, but the game didn't start out that way,it grew on me ,then I found myself having a strong desire to replay it again on the hardest setting after I intially beat the game. At first I didn't like the game but I stuck with it and really thought it's a very good game.
Some of the boss battles at first will leave you scratching your head as what to do,but once I figured out there weak spots ,it was easy as gravy.
I actually like not being 'held by the hand' so to speak ,having the game give me hints on killing a boss.
For the most part you gotta figure it out without 'glowing parts' as hints on the bosses body, with exception the last boss.
I actually loved my second playthrough on the hardest setting ,it was pure gamer bliss.
One thing I highly, highly recommend is getting used to the 'Glaive' ,it will be by far your fav weapon in the game.
You unlock the Glaive's various abilities as you progress into the game.
I didn't find the Glaive hard to control at all,and it's really the hilight of the game.
Overall a very satisfying enjoyable game, with epic boss battles, and decent Gears Of War like scenery,Dark Sector is a solid game.
If you so choose you can use primarily use ballistic weapons ,all of which are upgradeable at various black markets you'll find in the sewers.
I like the fact that you can duel wield ,have a Gliave in one hand and a micro-machine gun in the other. I found myself using assault rifles for distance enemies ,because the Glaive does have limited range.
Think of the Glaive as a boomerang on steroids ,only it has very sharp blades. By far my fav weapon in the game.
A must play game for any gamer. PEACE
