This is a classic. I remember when The Disney Channel first started. This was the first movie they played and promoted. The year was 1982. This movie is the very best movie to show children. It has everything from the protagonist, to antagonist, love, friendship, it's happy, sad, eventful, there is singing, but it's not annyoying...and of course there is a happy ending. There are NO DEATHS in this movie, unlike BAMBI so feel free to buy this one for all ages!

For years I've enjoyed watching this movie. I recently joined the Disney Movie Club and picked this movie up for my 3 year old son to watch. And of course he loved it, and as I watched him watching it, it reminded me of the first time I watched it.
This movie was was made in the early 70's when Disney wasn't turning out a lot of animated movie. Besides this movie and The Rescuers Disney didn't have a lot going on in the animation department (but they put out some great live-action films).
The cast for this movie is exceptional especially Phil Harris who puts the voice to Little John. If his voice sounds familiar it's because Harris also voiced Baloo in "The Jungle Book" and Thomas O'malley in "The Aristocats". Some would critisize Disney by using Harris again. They would say Little John and Baloo are essentially the same character. And my response it, so what. Baloo is a great character and Little John just makes Harris look that much better.
The story is flowing and funny. My favorite part of the film has to be the music. It so great and contagious that I can't help but sing the songs hours after the movie is over.
So pick this one up and enjoy this Disney classic with the whole family.
***My one regret is that it doesn't have a special edition version, maybe Disney will do that soon.

I have loved this cartoon since I was little, so I had to get it on dvd. It has great music and great characters. Little John and Robin Hood are a great pair. The whole story line is a great, Robin Hood has such a great heart. He risked his life for the people in the town of Knotting Ham. This movie is a great classic for all to enjoy.

I bought this movie for my 4 year old son and he absolutely loves it! He loves the action, the bows & arrows, and the "good guys". He asks to watch it over and over, and now dresses just like Robin Hood. I would highly recommend this for preschoolers or older, my 2 year old is not interested yet. Boys especially will like it!
