This is a tribute by Rose to Stephen Jay Gould who has just passed away. Rose shows clips from Gould on previous shows. In these clips Gould spoke not only about his beloved field of palentology, and evolutionary biology. He also spoke about his hobbies and more private passions, such as baseball and astronomy. In one of these segments Gould talks about dedicating one of his books to his friend Carl Sagan. He says that Sagan is the greatest advocate Science has had in its history. Gould too has been an important advocate for Science. In another segment he tells about how as a young child his father took him to the Natural History Museum in New York where he saw the dinosaurs and was 'hooked'. A jolly large fellow in yet another segment he speaks about his cancer and its being in recession. There seems in these interviews a certain relaxed pleasure, a friendly atmosphere. Gould radiated this. Rose honors his memory with this segment.
