I bought two of these last Christmas for my 7 and 9 year old children. We live in a place with few sidewalks so I wanted something with wheels that could handle asphalt and gravel. These are great! Very sturdy and smooth on bumpy surfaces. The hand brake adds some security. I do agree that the handlebars don't go high enough for tall kids, though. Overall a great buy!

OVERALL SEEMS LIKE A WELL BUILT PIECE. IF YOU DON'T OWN A SPOKE WRENCH YOU MAY WANT TO GET ONE BEFORE THE SCOOTER SHOWS UP, THE SPOKES ON THE ONE WE GOT WERE LOOSE AND THE WHEEL WAS OUT OF ROUND. AFTER I FIXED THAT AND PLAYED WITH THE BRAKE ALIGNMENT IT HAS WORKED FINE.

I ordered one Kent Super Scooter with the Schwinn Scooter as a pair. The Kent was a few buck cheaper than the Schwinn and much Nicer. Wheels are bigger, back and front brakes and handel bar adjustmet for small and somewhat larger kids. The Schwinn is too small for my 8 year old and cannot be adjusted. The Kent is still a little too short for my 11 year old, but a MUCH Better Buy than the more expensive smaller Schwinn. Now I'm just looking for a scooter built like the Kent with taller handel bars for bigger kids. Wish I could ship the Schwinn Back and get a second Kent for my 5 year old.

Got this for my 6 year old cause he kept falling off his razor, I guess because of the small wheels and because I wanted him to learn how to balance properly when I took his training wheels of his big kids bike. He loves it and we're both happy with our purchase. I would definitely recommend. Now his sister wants one so she can put her razor aside.
