With this series containing 28 DVD's I had expected it be every episode of the Twilight Zone. Buyers beware...this set does not include the series that was directed by Wez Craven. Do not let that deter you though as it is still a very good collection - a clear example that much of the creative genius of the black and white era outshines that of today.

I bought this just a short time ago and believe it or not I am still trying to see them all. It's literally a whole library of this series on 28 DVDs with anywhere from 5-6-7 episodes on each one; incredible! The clarity is great. So far I have not had a single problem with any of the DVDs. If you love the original Twilight Zone with Rod Serling, this is one DVD set you must put in your home DVD library. Each year comes in its own album which holds 5-6 DVDs and comes in an attractive case making it easy to store. My friends all want to borrow it once I'm finished seeing them all.

Great DVD collection with very clean footage. On T.V broadcast during New Year's marathon a hiss coul be heard. Considering the quality of recordings from the 60's that is expected. However most of hiss has been removed on the DVD set. Really great job on video with great contrast. Of course the stories and acting are the best!

I have been waiting for many, many years for this to come out and it is finally here! The collection is awesome. Every episode is in great condition. There is also a bonus disk that serves as sort of a Rod Serling biography titled, "Submitted for Your Approval." I found that to be one of the most interesting aspects of the entire collection. One of the best things about the collection is no commercials! Also, thanks to Amazon for the super great deal on the price and shipping!

Many people have commented on the pristine picture and sound, and it's all true. These shows look astonishingly brilliant and vivid and crisp. It's remarkable.
Having this collection to own is a joy. It is a piece of television history, one of the best programs ever. Revisiting The Twilight Zone will make you feel young again. Its wondrous writing, creativity, acting, and storytelling are still fantastic after nearly fifty years. The tales here are at times powerful, disturbing, frightening, deeply poignant, sweet and amusing, or profoundly moving.
My complaint with this collection involves special features, specifically the recordings of audio interviews that Marc Scott Zicree conducted with some of the actors and writers. Granted, it is interesting to listen to these conversations, however Mr. Zicree has the distracting and annoying habit of quickly saying "Mmm hmm, mmm hmm" immediately after almost every sentence spoken by the person he questions. The actor or writer barely gets a thought spoken when Zicree chirps out yet another "Mmm hmm, mmm hmm" like he is grossly overcaffeinated or very nervous. It's ridiculous. Let the person finish a thought without interruption. I was delighted listening to actor Burgess Meredith or the great writer Richard Matheson, but their recollections and musings are often cut off by these sudden, needless interjections.
But I can forgive that because this collection is amazing. (And I can live without a 'Play All' function in the dvd menu; although that would have been great. I actually expect that feature on all television dvd's. It's surprising to see it absent. Yet it's a mere trifle because these stories and characters are worth cherishing.)
Finally, if you are on the fence about purchasing this collection, I would encourage you to buy it. Treat yourself to these fine TV productions. This is good stuff. This is food for the imagination.
