Okay, I've been a fan of Transformers since I first saw the cartoon when I was a wee lad. When I heard about this version of Optimus Prime coming out I just had to get it, it just took me a few years. Now that I do, I'm glad I bought it. Everything about it is great save one small issue that seems to be only reticent in my individual toy. One of the legs keeps popping off fairly easily. What would otherwise be a perfect toy is tarnished by this small but extremely noticeable flaw. My recommendation is still to buy but just beware of some issues you may find with it.

Nice collectible, but you a need a degree in Transforming 101! I found it very difficult to transform into the truck. Legs would not lock out & the instructions are very vague. Once it is transformed, very cool! Has a nice heavy weight to it. I do not recommend this for younger kids as a play toy.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the launch of the mega popular toy line and cartoon series, Hasbro issued this spectacular action figure that is an absolute must own for longtime fans and newer fans alike. Heroic Autobot leader Optimus Prime is brought to life in incredible fashion and articulation, and for collectors, this figure is worth every penny of Hasbro's selling price. Prime is flexible, and includes a bevy of features including a talking platform, his trusty sidearm, a rubber version of arch nemesis Megatron in his gun form, a plasma axe, and the Matrix which can be inserted in his chest and used to light up as well. Yes, this Optimus Prime figure is no joke, and this is only proved further when you attempt to transform him. Make no mistake that this is undoubtedly the hardest Transformer toy to transform to hit America yet, and his fully poseable frame makes it relatively easy to pose and put on display. In his truck mode, there is a latch that appears to be here for the trailer that we've seen accompany Prime for years, yet there's no trailer here. This really isn't such a big deal considering just how plain awesome the overall figure ends up being, and if Hasbro ever had one it development, it's unlikely they would release it now considering how long this figure has been on the market (although with the success of the movie from Michael Bay, who knows?). All in all, this is the finest Optimus Prime figure to ever see the light of day, and for longtime fans, newer fans, and Transformers collectors alike; this is an absolute must own for all of the above.

This is a great way to satisfy your cravings of childhood nostalgia by getting this G1 Transformers modeled Optimus Prime. The thought and engineering that went into designing this toy is remarkable! And a great improvement from the original toy from the 80s! Better durability, size, and best conversion from robot mode to vehicle mode and vice-versa. Much more true to the cartoon in transformation than the original toy. Stand includes audio commands of Prime, and include 3 weapons, including a gun-mode Megatron! Great to transform and convert or just pose in action figure stand on display! In addition, there is amazing detail like included hydraulics...imagine a real life robot! Whether you never got the original toy as a kid, broke the original toy, or just want a new one, this is a great buy!

When you think back and remember Optimus Prime you think of a great character and a great toy. When you actually go back and see the original toy its all fine and dandy but not as impressive as this figure. With this Ptime you get a tall, heavy, emposing looking figure, this Prime is a classic in its own right. The highly posable joints makes for endless possibilities when wanting to show off the figure or when placing him with his 80's relatives. Blah blah blah, just get one.
