look, if you are interested in heart-pounding, hardcore combat and smartly designed challenging puzzles and traps, god of war 2 delivers. the graphics are awesome, they really push the ps2 to its limits, the monsters and bosses are detailed and well they look the way monsters are supposed to look. Also this is no quickie, I am enjoying hours and hours of mind-blowing gameplay. My highest ratings.

God of War 2 has the best playstation 2 graphics ever and it is set in ancient Greece. It seems like you are playing a next gen. game but really a ps2 one. The cutscenes and even when you are playing seems like it is of movie quality. The combat system is really unique in the way you kill your enemies. Like when you fight a cyclopse and it is worn down, you will climb up it and rip out its eye. You can also twist off a medusas head. The sound of God of War 2 is just as amazing as the graphics. There is also a bonus disc that has a lot of special features like deleted levels, the making of, and the actors doing their voice overs, as well as interviews. Overall this a really great action/adventure/fantasy game.

This is a great game. Very fun overall: great voice acting, fun weapons (even if some are basically useless), cool enemies, and good battle mechanics. It was a lot of fun, until the very end.
This game, along with some other recent PS2 games, have a horrible feature that seems to be popular: Button-Press puzzles. I hate button-press puzzles!
Fortunately, most game developers seem to have realized that nobody likes complex, instant-death jumping puzzles (although, there is one version here, which was kind of cool, but still frustrating).
Unfortunately, at least on PS2, some developers have replaced them with button-press puzzles. You're enjoying a cut scene, and suddenly a button flashes on the screen. You have about 1 second to push the button, and if you don't, you die, and have to start the cut scene over.
At the end of the game, there's a cut scene with 4 or 5 button-pushes in a row, and if you miss any of them, you die instantly, and have to do the entire scene over. I don't want to do that in a game, EVER!
5 stars overall, minus 1 star for stupid button-press puzzles. I hope developers are over this stupid idea. If I wanted to play Dragon's Lair, I would have bought that game. It wasn't fun then, and it isn't fun in any other game either.
