I think I would thoroughly enjoy this game should I have received it. I have sent numerous cortrespondence/e-mails and have yet to hear from anyone. I am completely disgusted with the service (or lack of it) that I have gotten.I would like my money refunded but cannot get anyone to acknowledge me.

I had to take one star out because I was waiting for the new TV i ordered to show up and all I have right now is a 19 inch...and on such a small TV this game is pretty much unplayable as far as I am concerned. But the characters, story, graphics are all great but are all a hole lote more enjoyable on a 50 inch plasma.

What can I say that probably hasn't been said before? The game is great, the graphics are stunning, sights remnicent of NY are so realistic, that when I gained access to Algonquin I sorta already knew my way around.
What I liked about GTA4 over the previous titles is the way in which missions were "doable". In the previous titles I always came to a point where I couldn't complete a certain mission that would move the story along. So I ended up just driving around being a maniac. In GTA4, the aiming reticule offers both auto aiming and free aim. This allows you to lock on to your adversaries, not available in previous versions. The car's damage also seem VERY forgiving. It is a bit harder to kill pedestrians, that's good, at least the cops won't be chasing you as much as in other versions.
That being said, the title to this review is Gorgeous Mayhem - Forgiving Action, this means, everything looks as believable as a cartoon rendition of a city can be on your TV. If you stand still, you can actually watch the shadows move as the sun sets. The fact that I can actually get through the missions a bit more easily makes the game fun for me.
Watch out for Michelle, she's a hottie.
Go steal a helicopter in south Algonquin and have some aerial looks around the city. It's fun for a while, then you'll want to get back on the streets.
Anyway, not much more to say, just PLEASE don't think you can act out any of the things you see in this game in real life. The consequences are REAL and then you won't be able to play GTA5 when it comes out.
Have fun.

This edition of GTA will live up to your expectations for the series.
It looks great - buildings, cars, car damage, character motion, etc. It all makes great eye-candy.
Sounds - the music is awesome on the radio, voice work by the characters is perfect. Niko's voice is awesome.
Playability: It's the same as the previous versions. No learning curve here. It's great - the mini-games are nicely tweaked too: bowling and darts in particular.
Plot: Confusing at times. You end up for several people silmutaneously and at times you must make a "choice" about what to do - which helps with the replayability issue. But I can't say I remember why I'm doing something - only that I'm told to and it's fun.
Great game. I've just about won it. I'd say it's shorter than the other games but now I can go back and explore the other "options" based on those choices they give you.
