This film is based on Gene Byrnes' comic strip of the same name. Also it's one of Carl ''Alfalfa'' Switzer's first film roles right after Hal Roach's Our Gang comedies. Alfalfa is not the star as the dvd label implies. Instead he's reduced to a supporting role as one of the Reg'lar Fellers. It begins with a kids competition on a radio program. Alfalfa as Bump Hudson sings the song The Last Rose Of Summer. Then the fellers ask wealthy Mrs. Carter about using her barn. Mrs. Carter doesn't like kids. Her son is in jail having left a wife & child behind. Later one of the Reg'lar Fellers kidnaps the baby & leaves it at Mrs. Carter's house. When Mrs. Carter calls the police the boy confesses. Two crooks are planning to rob Mrs. Carter. When the kids help capture the crooks she changes her attitude about kids & lets the Reg'lar Fellers use her barn. It doesn't surprise me that this is the only film in this series. We have 3 stories in one feature length movie. This is nothing but Our Gang all over again with newer kid stars & a new name. But it's still enjoyable anyway.
