Beta-Ray Bill is one of those obscure Marvel characters that make you wonder what the heck the writer was smoking when he came up with him. Creating a figure for him makes even less sense, but the end result was a high quality, very interesting figure. Sure, he looks like a horse on steroids, but his costume is terrific (better than the various Thors except the recent Hasbro one), and his weapon is great. Very much recommend this figure, especially if you are a collector of the Marvel Legends series before Hasbro took over and turned the series to absolute crap.

Beta Ray Bill is a true hero, and one of my personal favorites. His story is a long but worthy tale, and the comic that comes with this figure only fuels your desire to learn about him. If you truly want to get to know the alien called Beta Ray Bill, I suggest getting the "Thor Visionaries Vol. 1: Walt Simonson."

Beta Ray Bill is an alien warrior who, even before getting his Thor like powers, went toe to toe with the mighty Thor. He proved worthy to hold Thor's hammer and gained even greater powers and eventually got his own magic hammer named Stormbreaker so great was his heroism and nobility. He's a friend of Thor and they have the same tailor.
First off, I'm going to say it, I like Bill's version of the Thor outfit better than Thor's. It has the same basic design but slightly updated to look more streamlined. His figure is huge like it should be and his right hand is sculpted to hold his included hammer. He has a weird looking alien face but it works for him. His cape looks great and is not as thick as many ML capes in the past so it works much better. This figure is spot on and my favorite of this series. He comes with his comic, back drop and a piece of the menacing MODOK.
MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) is an artificially mutated super genius with a bad temper and big fat ugly head. He makes a cool build a figure too. This guy's sculpt is where he really shines. He sits on a cool flame type base which represents the rockets of his flying chair. The chair itself looks great and his arms and legs are suitably stubby. But the detail in that big fat face of his is great. Each wrinkle of his face and each tooth and even his lips are sculpted to perfection. He looks like he just jumped off of the page. He has fewer points of articulation than normal, but hey, he's mostly just a giant head. I'd give him at least 4 ½ stars on the sculpting alone.
