Rating: - Lost Tracks . . .
Anyone familiar with the show LOST and Michael Giacchino knows what to expect when purchasing this CD. In a word: greatness. That being said, I do have a few bones to pick with this soundtrack . . .

There are some major tracks missing from this CD. For starters, the music that plays when Locke realizes that he is not paralyzed anymore in the episode "Walkabout" is missing. This is my favorite episode and my favorite music! I literally cried the first time I heard it! Why, Michael, why?

My favorite "creepy" music is missing, as well--the music from the episode where they are crawling around in the Black Rock looking for dynamite. I was watching this episode in a well-lit room and still got scared, all because of the music. I couldn't believe that this one was cut as well.

I was also hoping for the end credits music that played during the first season (or at least the first season DVD's). It seems logical to put it on here since they do have a Main Title track. You can hear it briefly in one of the earlier tracks but it is in the background and therefore you lose the full effect.

Last but not least, there are no tracks from Driveshaft, as well as music from Hurley's headphones--Damien Rice, Willie Nelson, etc. This would have added another dimension to the soundtrack had it been on there. Too bad. . .

Altogether, I'm glad I bought the CD. There are some really good tracks on it--Hollywood and Vines, I've Got a Plane to Catch, Parting Words, and Oceanic 815 just to name a few. However, I must admit that a big reason for me buying this CD was to get all of the great music from the first season, not just a few of the same motifs repeated over and over in different tracks.
