Peanuts - A Boy Named Charlie Brown

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Don't pass up on it
This movie is a must have for any fan of The Peanuts. It's probably the best out of all the others. Some people may complain about extraneous scenes that don't help the story line, but those same scenes also give it a cool flavor for what Schultz was capable of doing at the time and was cool to see.

As for age appropriateness, I think it's appropriate when your child starts talking in full words in sentences (between 3 - 5, I was 3).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Word Study for Literacy
I use it often to introduce a segment of class that deals with word study so it's very appropriate. This is the movie where Charlie Brown participates in the spelling bee.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Giving Losers a Good Name Everywhere
I saw this just after seeing Snoopy, Come Home (1972) again recently and there is such a noticeable style difference in the drawing of the characters. "A Boy Named.." (1969) is decent, good for the kiddies, sometimes a little slow; adults may find some small poetry in it that perhaps they didn't pick up on as a kid? It's not nearly the RIVETING stuff that 'Snoopy Come Home' is, but this could be better for younger kids as it's not too heavy (but neither is it as clever or funny). It has its pleasant moments and will be familiar to all who've read the old Peanuts comic strips.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - They don't make 'em like this anymore!
This is just as good as I remembered from when it was on TV originally. The children enjoy it and the entire family can watch. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - classic
My five year old daughter discovered the Peanuts this past Christmas and has been asking for more ever since. This video is a classic and really holds her interest. She literally laughs out loud at parts. I have to admit that I really enjoy it too, and it brings back very fond memories of watching these programs when I was a child.
