This version is much more appealing than the purple version and should have been released as the regular version. However, it has the same problem as all of the Marvel Legends line, inferior plastic! So if you buy this and open it, be very, very, very careful with all of the joints! I was and I still managed to bust her arm of of the shoulder piece!. Be careful.

X-23 is a pretty nice figure. Those die-hard X-Men fans out there are going to be the ones who really know the story behind her. She is a younger, female clone of Wolverine with some different touches. Most notably is that she has only two adamantium claws coming out from each hand and a claw that comes out of each foot--the latter feature is nicely done by ToyBiz. The claw can be manipulated so that it folds back underneath the figure's foot. She has a new body sculpt that is very good for this character. She is supposed to look more "girl" than "woman". She's not too tall or too "developed". The articulation is pretty good, too. The joints were tight and well concealed. The head sculpt is very good considering past female characters. The paint job looks nice and clean. She also comes with a copy of the X-Men #451 comic. It does an OK job of showing you who X-23 is--you definitely see her in action against Wolverine. There is a variant version of this figure available. It's exactly the same figure and comic except the head sculpt is different and her costume is all purple instead of black. Plus, the purple one is a little harder to find. Both are very nice, but I am more pleased with this regular, black version. This series is called the Apocalypse Series because, as in past series, the 6 figures have a piece of the 7th, larger figure-Apocalypse. Apocalypse is a 5,000-year-old mutant and an arch nemesis of the X-Men. He turns out to be 14 inches tall and he looks really, really good when he is all assembled. He IS the best one in the series. Most people probably won't consider the character selection in this series to be the best, so it was a good idea for ToyBiz to release these figures this way. Personally, I love the character selection AND the idea of building another, larger figure. They should continue it in future releases. Everyone will want to put together their own Apocalypse since he was very hard to get when he made his 6-inch appearance in Marvel Legends 7. Between the two versions of X-23 that are out there, it's should be easy to purchase one or the other, so if you want her for the Apocalypse piece or not, you're still getting a great action figure that plays and displays nicely.
