This Wolverine is a dead on with the current costume in the comics.I just have problem with its proportion: Body is too small,Its feet is too flat. Its like Wolverine on a girly diet.I have the unmasked version because I like the head sculpt....so what I did was to customise it with the body of the old Tiger stripe Wolverine from the X-men line, and put some steel claws and the result was an awesome Unmasked Wolverine version.

Yes, it seems to be a recurring theme in the reviews for this figure, but it's a correct assessment: the Astonishing X-Men costumed Wolverine figure is tiny. Darn tiny. From a collectability standpoint, it would be dwarfed by the other Marvel Legends Wolverine figures, and thus look very out of place set among its counterparts, almost as if it were from another line of Marvel figures. Granted, Wolverine the character is supposed to be shorter than average, but the figure isn't just shorter than the other Apocalypse series figures, he's proportionately smaller. Take his X-Men teammate Bishop, another figure in this series. Bishop the comics character is taller than Wolverine the comics character, but not much larger in terms of musculature. Bishop the Marvel Legends figure is not only taller, but significantly more muscular than the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine, so much so that the Bishop figure makes the Wolverine figure look like a lanky high school track star compared to a professional bodybuilder. Then again, all the Apocalypse series figures are out of proportion with at least one if not more of the other figures in the series. Iron Fist, who is supposed to have the slim yet defined build of an intensely trained martial artist, somehow manages to have a thicker build as a figure than the Wolverine figure. The Bishop figure comes up to the chest of the Sasquatch figure, making Bishop's guns nearly proportionate to be normal-sized weapons for Sasquatch, which would translate to cannon-sized guns for the colossal beast. The Maestro figure, a character who is a future version of the Hulk, is suitably overmuscled, but is somehow just barely taller than the supposedly human-sized Bishop, and that only with the "crown" that the Maestro comes with.
But issues of size aside....the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine figure looks GOOD. I have no qualms with saying that it is the best likeness of Wolverine to come out of Marvel Legends yet. The claws are a perfect size and thickness, the facial expression is menacing without being too overdone, and the costume details are a perfect rendering of artist John Cassaday's design.
I haven't had the issue of loose figure joints that others report--if anything, I've had many issues with stiff, almost immovable joints, with this Wolverine figure and the other Apocalypse series figures. I've had to take an extra-thin-bladed X-Acto knife and work it between some of the worst of the figures' "sticky" joints to render the figures poseable. If you encounter sticky joints, a warning: be very careful when trying to work them loose. I nearly tore the elbow piece on a Sasquatch figure in half trying to get the forearm to move. Try the X-Acto knife method (very small blade, just enough force to "shave" a little space in between the pieces of the joint. I've also had vegetable oil or cooking spray (in very small amounts) recommended to me by other collectors as a lubricant--just don't, for Heaven's sake, use something petroleum-based like WD-40, which is almost certain to discolor and possibly remove the paint on the figure, and might damage the plastic as well.
Looking at the figure from a playability perspective--I doubt that the size discrepancy between figures would matter to a child who just wants a cool Wolverine figure (I recall my childhood as a place where huge Transformers, oversized Masters of the Universe and more diminutive G.I. Joe and Star Wars figures co-existed with each other happily). And this IS a cool Wolverine figure--even those unfamiliar with the Astonishing X-Men comics can look at this figure and simply determine it to be an excellent-looking toy. The issues with the joints could take away a lot from the fun factor--if you purchase the figure for a child, it not be a bad idea to crack open the package first, check the figure for any problems, deal with them, and give the child the loose figure, especially if you're not planning to acquire the entire Apocalypse Build-A-Figure.
Ah, yes--the reason for the "Apocalypse series" name. This figure comes with the left leg piece of a larger Apocalypse figure that you can build by acquiring all the figures in this series. If you or the person you're buying this for are not interested in the Build-A-Figure, the leg piece can be sold on eBay to collectors who want the Apocalypse figure but don't want the smaller figures. (Or alternately, if Wolverine and the big Apocalypse are all you want, you could try for the other Apocalypse pieces on eBay.)

Mine has the loose waist too, but its not that much of an issue, it will stay how it's posed. I snagged the Unmasked version, but am going back for the regular one as well. he is a little small, but in good proportion to other ML figures, especially like Sasquach and Maestro Hulk (from the same series), and Omega Red from Series X, whom I have him grappling with.
It is still a great Wolverine, though I agree that the four-letter words in the comic book are a bit unnecessary.
Plus Apocalypse looks fatastic, though his knee and ankle joints are a little weak.

I just bought this wolverine action figure & to be honest this was my first wolverine toy in my life & to me its really cool! specially the claws you can widen them by putting your fingers in the middle of the claws so that they would look more of kinda extreme! The action figure give 30 to 32 POA ,like other wolverine owners they all complain about the waist. well quess what! I have an idea in fixing it! in fact I've already done it to my figure just us mighty bond (or any super glue ,preferable locktite or quicktite) put one or two drops ONLY in each side of the waist of the figure. just be care full that it won't be messy & after you've done that try moving the waist of the figure left & right then try a 360 degrees & you have you're wolverine fixed & ready for some kick ASS!

While the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine outfit is cool, it didn't demand a figure when there are so many other characters who are figure-worthy. It's a good figure - the main beef is that he's smaller. Wolverine should be short and stocky, but this figure is simply reduced in size. Don't believe me? Just compare the size of his cloned daughter, X-23, to Wolverine. They're the same height and her head is bigger. Usually this series respects proportionate sizes but in this case the wolverine looks too petite.
