When i first got my 360 i was amazed at the graphics.
the players in nba live 06 looked real! but beware. i got the "core system." right after purchasing this item i realized that it came with NO HARD DRIVE! the hard drive only comes with the $400 360. A hard drive itself costs $100 and the 360 i got only costs $300. GET THE $400 360!!! IT'S A BETTER DEAL!!!!!!!!!

I ordered this for my husband for the holidays. I couldn't afford the extra $ at the holiday time for the other version of this system. The game system itself it awesome, amazing graphics, new games, ect. IT Is an awesome game system. We are really happy with it!!!
WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU
If you buy this version FORGET saving the games. You have to upgrade the system $79.99 with a memory card.$49.99/each wireless paddle. I have never bought a gaming system that didn't allow you to save a few games (Nintendo etc)
Keep it in an open area - so it doesn't overheat!
YOU DO NOT GET A GAME WITH THIS $299.99 System, get ready to spend $70 each game!!!
IF I would have just paid the extra $100 right away it would have been a must better deal. I spent $190.00 more to get him what I could have gotten in the first place. SO Don't waste your time with the core product just get the one with 2 paddles, and the memory card. You will save in the long run.

Got the 360 6 months ago, no games available noticibly better than XBox. In precisely 95 days XBox 1 fan quit and overheated and started crashing.
Called 18004myxbox. Warranty has expired sorry no luck. Bought new fan and installed it. Worked for another month before expiring from overheating again both fans working.
Miracle. Microsoft ups warranty to 1 year as it should have been from the start so I call and send in the 360. They send it back unrepaired stating it was tampered with and not only will they not fix it under warranty but they wont fix it at all ever for any amount of money.
It is not repairable any where else and they dont sell repair parts. Same as taking your car back to the dealer and having them tell you you changed your own oil so we not only wont repair it, you cant take it anywhere else or get any parts for it. Throw it out and buy a new car.
Think About it! Think about after your nice new 1 year warranty.
Go Buy a PS3 youll be much happier. It died in middle of Gears of War first game to really show off 360s capability.

The Xbox is a conventional videogaming system with amazing graphics, BUT after purchasing a couple of Nintendo systems over the years, I have begun to expect that a videogame should play SOMETHING (ANYTHING) right out of the box. The Nintendo 64 (circa 1996) came bundled with Super Mario, one of the most revolutionary games of its time. The Nintendo Wii comes bundled with Wii Sports (surprisingly fun). The Xbox 360 does nothing except for glowing and producing heat unless you purchase a game.
One other negative: Despite the similar names, the Xbox 360 is not totally backward compatible with the Xbox. Afficionados of Dance Dance Revolution will discover that their Xbox dance pad will not plug into the Xbox 360 controller port. It seems that Microsoft should either have offered an adapter or provide both new and old style gaming ports. Kiss your steering wheels, control sticks and dance pads goodbye.
Yet another negative: The fan is REALLY REALLY LOUD. Has anyone else noticed this?
On the plus side, the graphics are very nice and look nice on High Definition TV. Plus there is some serious horsepower in the processor--games are very responsive.
We purchased both a Wii and an XBox 360 for the family for Christmas--the Wii has been played with everyday (now a month and a half), while the XBox has seen a total of 2 hours of play. After playing the Wii, button pushing isn't as much fun or as involving as "waving a sword" or "swinging a tennis racket."

Great system! I was set on buying a PS3, but after winning the right to purchase the Xbox360 for $100 I love it! Awesome graphics! Nice Interface! If I had to pay full price; I would still recommend it over the PS3!
