Any true X-men fan will be paralyzed by what I'm about to type and all you folks saying that the film makers gave you the perfect x-men film are a bunch of phonies! This film was the beginning of the butchering; the butchering of x-men characters. They have butchered rogue and iceman greatly! In the comic Rogue is a strong and wild spirit with the ability to fight and strength that is equal to super woman. She is tormented by her own inner conflicts because she came to the x-men as a former villain. This made her very untrustworthy to the x-men and she was haunted with guilt for being a villain. Her greatest sin was purposely using her power to hurt another. Her whole purpose in joining the x-men was for one thing: REDEMPTION! This created a very strong and interesting character but in the movie she's a pathetic damsel in distress. She has no strength, none of the strong female attitude and sassiness. She's not a former villain and basically just wants to be able to kiss a boy again; SHE IS THE COMPLETE OPPOPSITE OF THE COMIC!! And because of this, I find this movie very faulted. Rogue was such a great character with a great story, especially the angle of her coming to the team as a former villain and as a mutant that purposely used her powers for evil and now, seeks redemption. Instead of developing her character, she is basically exactly how she was in x1, PATHETIC! Her character goes no where, all she wants is a damn kiss. In the comic book, she would punch a guy in the face if they asked her for a kiss. She was traumatized by her childhood experience and the guilt of being a former villain. What they did to her in this movie is a travesty and having her be so openly in love with bobby is a disgrace to the character and my blood boils every time I see them together. In the first film she was weak but was given an important role and I thought they would at least develop her into the character we know and love in future films but nope, she's just a dumb helpless teenage push over. She doesn't have a trace of the signature female warrior attitude and sassiness that she is known for. I'll never understand why they did that and I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS GETS BUY ALL YOU "X-MEN" FANS and that this film is regarded as one of the best comic book movies ever! I can forgive them making William Stryker Wolverine's architect (in the comic he's a hateful preacher and has nothing to do with wolverine) but what they did to Rogue is a crime. I don't think the film makers know much about x-men, they really messed up here and I can't believe this movie is considered one of the best comic movies. They made Colossus a 16 year old American Kid! What the hell!? This guy is supposed to from Russia god damn it! This movie is suppose to be based on the novel "god loves, man kills" but completely fails in being as powerful as the book. Gone are all the religious and spiritual context. What the film makers did basically was take an atheist approach and I don't understand why. Maybe they felt it would be too offensive but cutting out the religious subject matter makes the film loose the feeling that mutants are persecuted just for existing (because humanity feels they are demons and it's the end of days). I don't feel the hatred from the HUMAN COMMUNITY, only from Stryker. This looses the whole sociological property that x-men is all about and just makes it a good guy versus the villain movie!! Instead they give us the LAME AND CORNEY "coming out the closet" scene with ice boy (they butchered ice man too!) with his parents "not understanding" crap. In the comic they show the real trauma of child abuse and rejection, here they give us a pathetic "family meeting." If you don't know anything about x-men, then this is a decent sci-fi flick but all these morons saying they're great x-men fans and how this if for people who like the comic can kiss my behind. I think people like this movie because there is more action. I don't care about action as much as I care about character development and a good screenplay. And what in the hell is with this teen corner crap with rogue, iceman, and pyro?! I feel like I'm watching Nickelodeon every time they are on the screen! And the X-men camping scene was weak too. How in the hell would Magento be in the same exact woods right where the black bird was about to crash just hanging out with Mystique? Okay, now let's go camping. JEAN REALLY DIDN'T SHOW THAT SHE CARED FOR CYCLOPS THAT MUCH BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS NO SENSE OF URGENCY TO FIND HIM!! This camping scene is weak. THEY COULD HAVE FILLED THESE TIME SLOTS WITH REAL X-MEN CONTENT, YOU ALL HAVE NO IDEA, MY GOD!! Also the fact that we spent so much time on iceman and rogue only to see their "pay off" being them holding hands was pathetic. Ice man didn't even "ice up." To me that's like having human torch in a movie and not lighting him up or bruce wayne not putting on the batman suit. Again I can't believe you "x-men fans" let this all get by you and that you all call this the greatest comic book film ever and because of this film, the x-men film universe is hopeless now. For instance Wolverine Origins could have been a better movie but it will never be as good as it could have been because now they have to oblige by the X2 story, such as having wolverine "volunteer for the weapon x procedure." That line right there ruined everything. Wolverine was suppose to be a living weapon. A mindless killing machine, but now he's been destroyed by this film because now he's consciously volunteered. X1 was a million times better and X3 is even worst. 1/5

X2 was a 2003 movie it was a follow up to X Men I think they succeeded with a better movie the cast from the 1st movie comes back Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stuart, Ian McKellen Famke Janssen, Halle Berry dropped out of Gili to reprise her role smart lady lol. 2 newer characters are Nightcrawler played by Allen Cumming Colonel Willam Stryker played by Brian Cox. Plot is Nightcrawler goes to the White House tears @** through secret service gives the President a message Mutant Freedom. Professor X fearing a war has Jean Grey & Storm go to Boston & get Nightcrawler. Professor X is captured later on by Colonel Willam Stryker & Cyclops was captured too & is being "reeducted" by Stryker. Stryker also stages an assault on the on the Mansion. Magneto gets involved & heroes & villains team up. Stryker is using the Professor to kill every human on Earth Magneto has his own agenda. They definitely intended on a 3rd part cause Jean Grey sacrifices herself at the end.

Bryan Singer, who became a Marvel Master after just one film adaptation of the classic comics, follows X-Men with this engaging sequel, which is as profound and intelligent as it is visually impressive and audience-pleasing. Despite introducing the blue-skinned, teleporting mutant, Nightcrawler, and becoming more action-alert than the first film, X2's spotlight is shone on Logan/Wolverine as he inches closer to uncovering the truth behind his past. But before he can do so, he must match wits with the iniquitous scientist William Stryker (Brian Cox), whose past is as murky and mingled as Logan's own.
Singer's continuation of the eventual trilogy (not counting the dreadful X-Men Origins: Wolverine)--one that ended with 2006's unworthy The Last Stand (which Singer opted out of to direct Superman Returns)--was one of 2003's top-grossing box-office hits, raking in over $85 million in its first weekend alone and nearly $215 million all-together, far exceeding its predecessor (which earned barely over $157 million), and is certainly one of the sci-fi genre's most exciting films. The High Definition transfer for the Blu-ray package was done pristinely and gets viewers even closer to Singer's brilliant vision.

BLU-RAY VERSION IS WORTH BUYING. I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE MOVIE, OTHERS ALREADY HAVE. BUT, NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE TELL YOU IF IT IS WORTH UPGRADING FROM YOUR REGULAR DVD TO BLU-RAY. THIS ONE IS WORTH IT. COLORS ARE STUNNING AND SOUNDS GREAT.
