I always liked Stefanie Powers in her role. But, for me, Robert Wagner made this show what it was. When I originally watched Hart to Hart, back in the early 80's, he struck me as the epitome of grace and elegance. Needless to say, that impression has only intensified with the passage of time and the subsequent evolution of our popular culture.(If 'evolution' is even the appropriate term.)I don't believe there has been anyone quite like R.J.Wagner in the annals of television. He brought something of Old Hollywood, but he could be appreciated by contemporary audiences, as well. He was so charming, and urbane, that you could believe that he'd be at home in any situation. But he was possessed of sufficient machismo to seem authentic when he had to beat somebody up or hang off of a moving train, or any of the other physical requirements for a role like this. The charm and the big, easygoing smile could vanish very abruptly if he(or especially his wife)were provoked or threatened.Wagner did a film, in later years, in which he played an assassin. Some people were surprised at how convincing he was in the role. I wasn't. In Hart to Hart, he always had the ability to come across as hard, or even ruthless-but only when it was necessary. I cannot imagine another actor in this role. Who else could provide such a perfect combination of looks, virility, charm, and class? Whether he was pouring the champagne, or blazing away in a gunfight, he always made it look easy. And he always made it look good. Best of all, he was utterly unique, which is a quality I appreciate more and more as the years go by.

I LOVE THE SHOW AND I WOULD GET IT, BUT SINCE ROBERT WAGNER HAS A LAWSUIT AGAINST SONY FOR THE PROFITS FROM CHARLIE'S ANGELS AND KEEPING THE LAST TWO SEASONS OF IT FROM BEING RELEASE I WILL NOT BUY OR SUPPORT HIS WORK.

Finally got my copy of Season 1 and 2 of Hart to Hart, what can I tell you, it was just as good, maybe even better than when it first aired. They don't make shows like these anymore, this was a classy show with classy people. I wish Sony would hurry up with Season 3.

I give Hart to Hart a full 5 stars.. What a great creation. Fantastic actors, great themes, all in a kid-friendly environment. I remember watching this on prime time tv. I looked forward to it every week. This is top-quality tv folks..Order up the first two seasons for some great family entertainment. Turn OFF the prime time tv, until they decide to go back to some quality tv programs and not idiot shows like reality tv. Try some of the 70's and 80's series shows on DVD. Glen Larson, Stephen Cannell, Michael Mann. Any of the series produced by those three and you can't go wrong. I believe Hart to Hart was by Sidney Sheldon, so add him to your list as well. We are ready for the rest of Hart to Hart on DVD.. so release them soon..

It's good to see a nice romantic detective/crime show again. There are no graphic murder scenes or cussing. It's a sweet show.
