Even though it might be considered the weaker of the original Batman: The Animated Series movie trilogy, Mystery Of The Batwoman is very unique for several reasons. One is that it was the very first made-for-video animated movie based on a DC Comics, which set the standard for the DC Universe line. It also was supposed to be the final regular title in the B:TAS storyline.
Set a little while after the end of Season 4 of the series, a new female vigilante called Batwoman is making things hectic for the new troika of Penguin, Rupert Thorne, and gangster Carlton Duquesene. After the movie confirms that Batwoman is not either Catwoman or Batgirl(who wants to make out with Bruce, eww!), Batman narrows his search down to Duquesene's daughter, Kathy. Although he sees Batwoman attack Penquin's nightclub while dating Kathy as Bruce Wayne. Another suspect is Rocky Ballantine, a metullurgist working for Wayne Tech whose developed a new kind of shapechanging metal that Batwoman used against Penguin. However, Batman also believes the new female police detective Sonya Alcana(apparently Montaya left to become The Question)might be Batwoman too. He later on realizes that its really all three of them working together and taking turns as Batwoman to throw off suspicion. They're all trying to shut down Penguin's latest scheme as a laser gun arms dealer to foreign countries. Bane is brought in as Penguin's muscle against Batwoman, and takes charge of shipping the weapons out of Gotham. Kathy raids the boat that's delivering the lasers, but is caught by Bane, and revealed to her father and the others to be Batwoman. Batman and Robin(Tim Drake)arrive to stop them, and Batman and Bane apparently have one last fight while the burning ship sinks into the harbor, possibly with Bane still on it.
Mystery Of The Batwoman is a great animated film, at least for Bat-fans. This acts as a decent conclusion for the original animated series, as well as lead-in to Batman Beyond as Batwoman's costume is a possible present day template for the future Batsuit, including the same emblem. There's some decent new voice casting in this too, with Hector Elizondo taking over as Bane, David Ogden Stiers replacing Paul Williams as Penguin, Kyra Sedgwick as the voice of Batwoman, and oddly enough Kelly Ripa as Rocky. The animation in this isn't really up on the same level as either Mask Of The Phantasm or Sub Zero, but its still a worth a look.

With a stack of DVDs two feet high you would not think our home needed another one - but obviously we did! My son requested this DVD for his birthday and was engrossed in it for hours! If you are a Batman fan - you will enjoy this well produced DVD.

Ive read alot of negative reviews about this movie, but I saw this movie at blockbuster and decided to give it a chance. glad i did. it was better than i thought it would be.
it was well written, entertaning, and fun.
the art is in the same stile as the 'new' batman adventures. but thats no big loss.
the story is still interesting and engaging.
the mystery is interesting.
allthough the answer to it is a bit like christie's murder on the orient express.
but still..good movie.
basicly there is a new crime fighter in town.
batwoman.
however she is a bit more ruff than batman.
batman trys to find out who she is. there are three possible suspects.
at the same time the criminals of Gotham are out to stop the batwoman at all costs.
batgirl makes a fleeting apperance in this movie.
and as a nodd to Batman Beyond she clearly has feelings for bruce.
bruce is doing his best to put her off though.
all in all this was a good movie.
so dont judge it to quickly your gonna turn down a good movie.

Mystery of the Batwoman is the third movie based on Batman: The Animated Series. To briefly surmise, there's a new Bat-person flying about Gotham & she's hitting the crime bosses where it hurts. Now, Batman has to figure out who she is & which side of the law she's on.
This film features the same quality animation as seen in The New Batman Adventures. The storyline is good & the voice acting, as always, is top notch. I will say that the mystery was not that difficult to unravel but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the film. The new Batwoman character is loosely based on the DC Comics heroine. There are also some familiar faces, Robin (Tim Drake), Barbara Gordon (very briefly), the Penguin, & Bane.
The special features include some interesting commentaries & character bios. There's also a PC game, which I haven't tried, yet. Overall, I enjoyed this movie & recommend it for Batman fans. I feel that it's a nice addition to my collection.

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman is one hour and fifteen minutes long and was released in October 21, 2003. You have one main story and three subplots and they are all going on at the same time. The movie starts with Batwoman blowing up a truck that is carrying firing arms and being smuggled in the process. Batman is curious about this new Batwoman and what her intentions are. We later find out that it is three women who are putting on the Batwomen costume and they are doing it for three different reasons. Dr. Roxanne "Rocky" Ballantine to free her boyfriend Kevin. Kevin was framed by Penguin; for reasons unknown. Detective Sonia Alcana wants revenge because Rupert Thorne's thugs burned down her parents store. Kathleen "Kathy" Duquesne for the murder of her mom for which she blames her father: hit man Carlton Duquesne. The first real encounter between Batwoman, Batman, and Robin is at Penguin's factory where guns are being illegally made and shipped. Batwoman blows up the factory and escapes. This Batwoman has total disregard for human life. Bruce Wayne becomes romantically involves with Kathleen "Kathy" Duquesne and believes she is Batwoman. However that theory is squashed when he and Kathy are at Penguin's club. Batwoman is there to find out who is the thug Penguin has hired. We find out that it is Bane. Bane is her to safeguard the shipping of the arms and capture Batwoman. The shipment of arms are being shipped out that evening and the three Batwomen decide to blow up the ship. Kathleen "Kathy" Duquesne's Batwoman is capture by Bane. When she is unmasked her father is in a state of shock. Penguin threatens to poison Kathy if she does not tell who her partners are. When she refuses, Bane decides to kill her father. Just as when Kathy is about to talk, Batman comes to the rescue. Batman saves Kathy, but Kathy goes ahead a set the bomb to blow up the ship. The people have two minutes to get off the ship. In the end the women identities are revealed, Penguin and Rupert Thorne are capture, Bane is seen falling into a fire pit, Dr. Roxanne "Rocky" Ballantine frees her boyfriend, Detective Sonia Alcana is forced to quit the police force and Carlton Duquesne goes to jail. Bruce Wayne finally gets the girl, Kathy. This movie went to fast and was hard to keep up with and jumped around to much for me. Batman - Mystery of the Batwoman gets a B.
