Today's television has nothing to offer. This movie was an EXCELLENT replacement and very entertaining for the entire family. Better than what we'll paying for junk on the television.

I loved this movie and series when it came out in the 70's. I am looking forward to seeing an old show on DVD. With all the other old TV shows that have been re-released, I hope they get around to putting out the entire series. My old HS friend, Hi Anne! LMC!) and I would love that! Order this episode, even though it is just one double=episode. Maybe if we can "vote with our dollars"? Buy more copies...
I received my copy of this double episode, great to see familiar faces, hear the over-the-top Western music score that goes with this series. Kurt Russell is still great as "Two-Persons", and it is amazing the way he can just swing up on his horse. Didn't look like a stunt-double to me! Tim Matheson, ever-cute playing Doctor, is also fun to watch being a little more serious than he was in "Animal House". This series was truly great, as it offered a new, more sensitive perspective of "Manifest Destiny" and its effect on various populations, and the conflicts that erupted during the "taming" of the West. I love the fact that it was filmed in Arizona, sometimes looking like New Mexico. Scenery is authentic, lending realism to the plot. Even the old wagons used look like the real thing.
It IS possible to find the entire series, TV pilot and TV movie included, on other web sites. I have since aquired the full set. You just need to look hard, like "The Quest".
My teen kids have enjoyed watching this series, as well. Maybe the time is right for a more traditional TV series? Not all this smart-mouthed, wise-cracking, over-packaged TV we have nowadays? Movie Execs have been busy remaking our old movies for lack of original ideas. Why not offer good, old-fashioned values once again, and remaster this series to be released as a full set on DVD?

Please be warned that this is NOT the pilot for the series "The Quest", as might be assumed from the cast list. You won't find Brian Keith and Cameron Mitchell anywhere on this DVD, which, as other reviewers have pointed out, is really just a two-part episode from the series itself. While the two-parter itself is fairly good, it doesn't hold a candle to the pilot. Oh, how I wish that one was on DVD!

I did enjoy the movie but was a bit disappointed because I thought they would look and maybe find their sister. I think that Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson are great actors and did good in this movie.
