This 1980-81 Season of The Dukes Of Hazzard was probably one of the strongest seasons during it's earlier years along with the fact that The Dukes Third Season was even better than the Second Season and the last 3 seasons of The Dukes Of Hazzard throughout it's whole 7-year run on CBS.
This was also the season when Boss Hogg's cousin Deputy Cletus Hogg(Rick Hurst)replaced Deputy Enos Strate(Sonny Shroyer) when Enos left Hazzard County to take a job in L.A. to work for the LAPD, which kind of sucked since I and most other people prefered Enos to Cletus.
In addition to that, the Dukes 1981-82 Season takes me all the way back to memory lane when I used to watch this season of THE DUKES OF HAZZARD at 9PM right after THE INCREDIBLE HULK at 8PM and then DALLAS at 10PM after THE DUKES OF HAZZARD every Friday when they were all part of CBS's Friday night line-up from the Fall of 1980 thru the Summer of 1981, which also brings me back to memory lane when the General Lee was still the hottest car on Friday nights at the time, since KNIGHT RIDER hadn't even came out yet and didn't join the Friday night line-up on NBC till 2 years after this season.
I recently purchased this DUKES OF HAZZARD's 3rd Season DVD and have added it to my collection of DVD's, which include KNIGHT RIDER, MAGNUM, THE A-TEAM, AIRWOLF, THE ROCKFORD FILES, WONDER WOMAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, etc.

Like all the other seasons of "The Dukes of Hazzard" this one is just pure entertainment at its best. These lovable characters with their exiting adventures, that awesome car and the humour make this TV show to something very special. It's a must see.
I only hope that the two reunion movies will also be released on DVD very soon, because I just can't get enough of "The Dukes of Hazzard".
A tip for all people who loves the show as much as I do:If you really are a fan of the original TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard" than go and watch John 'Bo Duke` Schneider`s new movie "Collier & Co - Hot Pursuit" which is currently running in a couple of cinemas for only a short time. It's not called "The Dukes" but it has humour,an awesome '69 Dodge Charger, really hot car stuff, brain and heart and it's entertainment at its best. You'll love it!!!

Season 3 was the maturation and comfortability of the characters in their roles. The boxing episode and the Boss Hogg playing himself and Honest Abe Lincoln Hogg were 2 highlights. Only season better was season 4 before it went down the tubes with Coy and Vance as well as the show losing its luster in season 6 and 7.Bo and Luke coming back was like cheating on your wife (season 5) and it just not being the same when you see her again (season 6 and 7). If I was to own 2 Dukes DVD's, definitely season 3 and 4.
