Graco ComfortSport Newborn/Toddler Carseat

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - do not like this car seat!!
We purchased this seat Fall of 2003 (navy "suede" cover)so it looks different than the picture now. I agree with everyone else when in the rear facing position you can't reach the pull belt to adjust. I mean this was impossible for me to access and very annoying. Also the straps would get very twisted and folded over so much that when I did try to tighten them it wouldn't work. It was almost impossible for me to untwist or unfold them especially when I had my 7 month old daughter in the seat. It took me so long to put my daughter in her car seat! My husband would repeatedly take the seat out and try to unfold and untwist the straps (the twisting would go back down far in the seat). Even now 2 years later, this still happens! The straps are softer and easier to untwist now but still get stuck. Pulling the strap to tighten is still very difficult! Then and now, with great effort, it clicks and stops with each pull. Not very smooth at all. I would have returned this seat a long time ago but i thought all seats were like this. I tried my sister's Alpha Omega Elite and couldn't believe how easy it was to tighten the straps!! Our Graco infant seat was very easy to tighten the stap. It was so smooth that we went with the same name. i was so dissapointed with this seat. I don't care that it is comfy, I can barely use it! I would never buy this seat or reccommend it ever!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great for the money
My husband and I bought this seat when my daughter was 6 months old. We wanted to get her out of the infant seat and used to a bigger seat for our upcoming road trip from CT to VA. We picked this one because it was in the middle for price, easy to use and adjust, and my husband was sold on the memory foam. I drive a VW Jetta and it was a tight fit(rear facing) in the backseat, but it was also a pretty tight fit(rear facing) in the backseat of my mother's Volvo SUV. Rear facing(in ANY car seat) is an inconvience you just have to deal with for the first year, just like diapers. Forward facing- it's great. My daughter seems really happy and comfortable in it( I haven't had the problem with the head falling forward), she slept all nine hours of the trip. I wish they made one for me. Four stars because I can't see it lasting to 40 lbs, my daughter is 14 months now and barely 20lbs and she is already on the last rung of the straps.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not very user friendly.....
I first bought this carseat when my son was 6 months old and had outgrown the graco carrier carseat. My husband and I looked around for a while and on the day of purchase spent over an hr. deciding on which one to buy. We decided on this one due to price and comfort and the salesperson assured us of its safety. Well...it's been downhill since. The seat is rearfacing for us still and I find it almost impossible to use! The harness straps are impossible to adjust in the rear facing position because you can't get to the adjustment strap due to it being blocked from the back of the seat! It's been a nightmare for me. I hate this seat because of it. It seems to take forever to get him settled in because of this issue and I think this ruins the whole seat. I do like the fact that it is so soft and padded, but the cover seems cheap too. The wimpy clips that attach it to the seat keep coming loose and the clips on the bottom aren't even attached because it fits so tight up against the back of the seat I can't get to them to reattach them, and when I have in the past they just pop off again when I am fussing with the strap adjuster, so the cover is wrinkled up at the bottom. It's really just annoying! I have not found this seat to be very user friendly and I am considering returning it for an evenflo triumph....however..those reviews somewhat say the same things about the strap adjustment. Is there a good user and budget friendly carseat out there???

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Grow out of it too quickly
We bought this seat for our daughter when she grew out of the Graco snug-ride at about 6 months. She loved it (and she HATED the snug ride). It's not too hard to install and the cover is reasonably easy to take off and clean. Rear-facing it is a pain to adjust but that time passes quickly. Our daughter is now 2 1/2 and quite small for her age, but we're finding that she's getting too tall for the seat. She's only 24 pounds, a far cry from the 40 pound "limit" but her shoulders are now level with the top of the straps (she's also not particularly tall, 25 percentile for her age). In order to be safe in the seat, the straps on a forward facing child must be at or above the shoulders. So now we have to buy a new seat long before we thought we would need to. My dad is a certified car seat safety inspector and he agrees that we'll need a new seat soon. Anyway, it's a nice comfy seat that we've found particularly easy to use forward-facing, but beware that unless your child is very short and round, you will be replacing the seat long before s/he is 40 pounds.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great 2nd seat
I just got this seat as a second one and I love it .Have a britax and can't stand it for the money i paid. This is and looks and feels just like britax and doesn't move all over the place in my explorer like the britax does. very sturdy, and daughter loves it to!!! easy to put in no problems britax would take me forever to get in place. very please with this one.
