Lost in Space - Season 3, Vol. 1 DVD

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - In My Memory.......
..........The show looks better than the DVD. And that's over 40 years of
Memory!

Recall on this series in NEEDED!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - classic TV
This show started out as a serious science-fictiion show, but eventually became more a comedy- fantasy than actual science-fiction. There were a number of episodes in season three, however that were well written and thoroughly entertaining; Reminiscent of the early days of LIS. I picked it up because it is good, family-oriented entertainment.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great time to be alive
This DVD will really bring back memories this was a great time in American history for television.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Saucer will travel
I watched this show religiously when I was 8 after school on channel 5 WNEW N.Y.I believe & 32 years later it was a treat & a half to watch them on dvd!Everything about the show I loved as a kid-the lanscape, red rocks & all planted the coolest impressions in my mind dormant all these years were popped out of excumation & sprung to life upon watching these killer dvds!No I didn't start wearing silver-sprayed suits-YET. Yeh The Robinsons go up & away & around for this season with cutting edge fx for 40 years ago.I cannot understand why people are making a stink about the picture quality-maybe we're just so spoiled today with all this digital/HD this, that-I didn't notice a single flaw,A great job was done with the restoration of this outfit.you'd have to be the biggest cynic bent on digging up the slightest imperfection to put this down.I like every season & watched them all-the first season rules.I didn't like it as much as a kid because I guess kids like color. The shows also frikin hilarious at times. The whole cast was awsome & they all supposedly had a wide range of interests outside of LIS.Uh... I'm itchin to know-it's probably just a rumor, but I heard that one morning in 1968 that Leonard Nemoy[Spock] & Jonathan Harris[Dr. Smith]decided to swap roles for a day as a prank to piss off the MGM producers or something-that's so funny-I mean I'm picturing Dr. Smith appearing on the Enterprize saying something pompuss to Scotty about ''beaming up''putting it down Yeh the jokes can go on forever-make up your own-you don't need to hear mine, they'll go on all night. It probably didn't happen but I'll never sleep again till I find out for certain.Ha Ha-just kidding.Buy this set too!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The Three Sides of Lost in Space
It's a common assessment that "Lost in Space" had its good and bad moments. In season 3's better episodes, however, the series shows a third side -- as an entertaining adventure show for kids.

Somewhere along the line, roughly starting in season 2, the primary target audience for the show apparently became kids -- especially boys -- running in age from younger children to early adolescents. The third season delivers on this point better than season 2, focusing more on action and avoiding farce (in the better episodes.) Season 3 even comes close at times to working on a more sophisticated level, and it does have its moments -- but it falls just short overall for potential adult viewers, due in large part to some unfortunate silliness that seems to show up at just the wrong moments. The show, however, works consistently well for younger audiences, and for that I give it 3 stars.

Stories are fast paced in the third season, with plenty of action, and plenty of electronic and mechanical props; for example, the space travelers dodge a comet, rescue a robot set adrift in space, cross into an "anti-matter world" of opposites, and use a space pod landing vehicle for excursions from the mother ship. New viewers will enjoy these elements, and nostalgia buffs will get a kick out of it as well. I recommend it.

A commentator once said that the TV show "Lost in Space" almost defies description, and I agree with that! So watch the DVDs and take your own best shot at describing what you see!
