This was a great way for my friend to watch one of her favorite shows over and over again. She loves it. She wants more.

"WORKS FOR ME" - THIS TV SHOW ALWAYS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATS OF THE 1980s. DON'T KNOW ABOUT AMERICA - BUT UK ITV IN THE 80s MESSED THIS SHOW AROUND - A LOT. AFTER ONLY 2 SEASONS ( I BELIEVE THERE WERE MANY MORE ) - THERE WAS ONLY A VERY OCCASIONAL EPISODE SHOWN AS LATE NIGHT GRAVEYARD FILLER BEFORE THEY DROPPED IT ALTOGETHER. IF YOU ARE READING FROM THE UK - BUY ALL THE HUNTER DVD BOXSETS AND SEE WHAT YOU MISSED FIRST TIME ROUND THANKS TO ITV. SHOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPOSURE AND RESPECT AS THE MUCH TOUTED A-TEAM MADE BY THE SAME PRODUCER - THE GREAT "STEPHEN J CANNELL"

Hunter was one of the last successful crime show television series that did not try to be an accurate (or more accurate than normal)police procedural.
Former LA Rams football player Fred Dryer plays Rick Hunter, a tough-as-nails LA homicide detective partnered with DeeDee McCall, an undercover specialist.
The two were as Mutt and Jeff as you can get, and the plots and acting could be downright silly, but it was a fun and entertaining graduate of the Aaron Spelling school of crime drama, and as such, it has its own intrinsic value which is one judged properly by the common TV viewer, not highbrow TV critics who would recommend program that Hunter fans wouldn't watch it they were paid to do so.
It's nice to have this series available on DVD.

I wish this show was still on the air. I thought it was the best detective show ever on TV. Every week's episode was a totally different storyline. The chemistry between Stepfanie Kramer and Fred Dryer was comparable to Bogey and Bacall. I can't believe it has been over 20 years since the 1st episode aired. Long live Hunter in re-runs and on DVD.

I really go for the action, stunts, the making of split second decissions in what to do in order to get the job done correctly, as well as a veriety of lines, they are extreamly educational. I especially like the line from Fred Dryer { Sgt. Rick Hunter }, " Works For Me ". In all, I would have to say that the show was very well done in Acting, Directing, Producing, Lighting, Sound Quality, Writting, Everything, for the entire series. The television show " HUNTER " is absoulity terrific.
