OK, let's get straight to the point. I am intensely aware that the pseudo-anime style of "Teen Titans" can be very off-putting to new viewers. You know; gigantic sweat drops, insanely big hair and eyes, pulsing red veins in their heads, exaggerated expressions that shatter their character profiles and the like. They were to me at first. A friend of mine introduced me to this show, and I did not like it at first, to say the least. I'll shamelessly admit, I loved anime when I was younger, and I recently discovered I still do when I started watching reruns of Dragonball Z. But that same loyalty is what made the Americanized imitation of the anime style so disturbing to me. And as if to gain some credentials, they got the theme song to be sung by a Japanese pop girl band called Puffy Amiyumi, which I STILL find profoundly annoying. But I got over it. It's very fun to watch, and despite it's obvious flaws, I seriously like this show. The characters and the relationships between them are very well developed. They all have their individual personalities, back-stories, motivations and effects on the main story line, something that is quite uncommon for something marketed as a kid's show.
How can I hate the sidekick of Batman, half-man half-robot with all those gadgets, a badass goth-like psychic, an airheaded alien girl, and a funny green animal transformer who battle rather charismatic villains and their own teenage angst? Some describe the show as immature, and some episodes are stupid (Cyborg the Barbarian?), but in my opinion it's humor is a welcome breath of fresh air from all the other cartoon shows that take themselves way too seriously (Justice League, anyone?)
The story keeps drawing me back in! I am extremely interested in the Trigun/Raven storyline that opens up later in the series, and particularly in the season finale, "The End" parts 1, 2 and 3. I really enjoyed seeing Armageddon. All of the story though - Cyborg's fight to keep his humanity, Starfire's problems with her (ahem) alienation, Beast Boy's Charlie Brown-like outsider status, and Terra's betrayal of the team which I felt had a rather lame ending. In conclusion, don't be embarrassed to like this show. Some of it seems geared towards six year olds, some toward teens or thereabouts, and some of it even seems geared towards couch potatoes and potheads, but I continually find reasons to like it.
(And now the off-hand, awkward comment that will probably get me a lot of unhelpful reviews by judgmental people.) And besides, Raven is hot as hell. I don't care if it's a cartoon; I defy any male to not find those legs a turn-on.

Okay this is starting to piss me off, why the heck are there so many anime imitations coming out? Its so freakin annoying!!!!!! The people who made this think they can do anime but they cant. The charcaters are lame, the story is totally cliche'd and the voiceacting is horrible. The thing that makes me mad is the fact that true authentic anime like Inu Yasha, Cowboy Bebop, and Akira, are totally shunned by much of the american public, while this crap is considered great. It's totally unfair, americans just can't do anime, they try but they cant, so they should stop trying!!!!

I got this for my daughter to watch on a long road trip to San Diego. She loved it so much, it has become one of her favorite videos. At first, I couldn't stand what they had done to one of my favorite comics as a teenager, but I learned to like it and now my daughter and I watch it together, along with the regular series.
