this is one of my all-time favorite cds, and i listen to it so much. all the songs are really good, and even though i didn't think so at first (there were only one or two songs that i didn't like in the beginning, and they definitely grew on me.) it's almost all punk rock, or whatever you would call that genre, so if you like that kind of music, definitely buy it.

I've had this cd for a long time and it's wonderful. The songs definitely grow on you.
1. Vindicated - Dashboard Confessional-At first I hated this song, but it grew on me and now I love it!!! Its probably one if the best tracks on the album.
2. Ordinary - Train -Another awesome song, one of my favorites on the album. It's really strong and it fits the movie perfect.
3. Did You - Hoobastank -I usually love Hoobastank but this song wasn't really all that good. But it is worth a listen.
4. Hold On - Jet - This was the only song used in the movie. Its not the best but it's a good song.
5. Gifts And Curses - Yellowcard-One of best songs on the whole album. If not, the BEST.
6. Woman - Maroon 5 - What can I say? I don't really like Maroon 5 at all. This songs not all that good.
7. This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know) - Taking Back Sunday-This song is awesome!! Well done. The voices fit the song perfectly.
8. Give It Up - Midtown - Probably the worst song on the entire cd.
9. Lucky You - lostprophets- Awesome!!! Just AWESOME!!
10. Who I Am - Smile Empty Soul - Nice song, it really gets you pumped.
11. The Night That The Lights Went Out In NYC - The Ataris- A beautiful song!! Pretty much the best song on the album.(but then again, there's alot of best songs on this album)
12. We Are - Ana - I thought this song was kindof a waste. It grows on you though. And she's not that bad of a singer.
13. Someone To Die For - Jimmy Gnecco featuring Brian May - Great song, great song. It sounds weird at first but once you get into it, you'll really love it!!!

Before I saw the movie I bought the soundtrack. I'm very disappointed that It's not as good as the first. The first soundtrack - SPIDER-MAN - basically strayed far from POP-ROCK and enthused the listener with hard rock and the occasional POP-SONG provided by Macy Gray and Injected. There was even a nice rendition of the 60s(?) SPIDER-MAN theme (which is also on the CD) provided by Areosmith. SPIDER-MAN II really feels like more like a musical promotional for the artists (if you wanna call them that) than an actual soundtrack if you get my meaning. They really didn't put any effort into selecting music of the now that actually merits something good. Maroon 5 doesn't qualify as a rock band nor good music unless you like songs based on sexual arousement. All the bands spanning from Dashboard Confessional - Yellowcard - The Ataris - Taking Back Sunday - Midtown - Ana - Maroon 5 - and Jimmy Gnecco (feat. Brian May) cannot even qualify as good songs. Most of these people have no talent with any of the instruments or vocals. More to the point all the singers sound as though they haven't even escaped the clutches of puberty yet (I.E., YELLOWCARD, DASHBOARD CONFESSIONALS, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, MIDTOWN). Which seems to be all the rage in the rock industry aside from nonstop throat sore screaming in between lyrics nowadays. I know the sequel for the first film was DRAMATIC and ANGSTY but jeez, this music is over the top and tries too hard to emphasize on the drama of the movie and soon becomes repetitive as it nears the end.
Having recently listened to it again, there are some songs I judged before that actually are good. Lost Prophets do manage to at least hold their own amongst this sea of horrific-ness and give Columbia a good song to put on this soundtrack. Granted "Lucky You" lacks the instrumental strength their singles like "Wake up" and "I don't know," its certainty not repetitive to the point where its no longer listenable. The vocals could be much better. Most of the time the singer was falling off key and wavering on key points of the lyrics. Other songs like "Who I am" - by Smile Empty Soul, are easy on the ears when you don't wanna listen to the loud and painful songs like MIDTOWN's "Give it up," or Ana's "We Are" (a song whose tune reminds me of Disney's W.I.T.C.H. theme song to a point where I cannot even listen to the cliched lyrics and lame female vocals). And in spite of what I said above, Maroon 5's "Woman" is probably second to best vocal on this Soundtrack next to Train. The lyrics aren't the most comfortable thing to endure as you listen to the melodic instruments and violin backing up the singer, the song is overall good fun to listen to. Call me two-faced all you want, the song does grow on you the more you dare to listen to it. Jet's "Hold On" falls in the middle of the group in all honesty. The music itself isn't bad, the singer is lacking the certain vocal strength he needs to make this song feel truly emotional and enjoyable. Its entertaining somewhat though.
The theme for the movie, Dashboard Confessional's "Vindicated" is a perfect example of poor music that try too hard to overshadow the first soundtrack theme, "Hero" by Nickel Back's Chad Kroger and Josey Scott. Which seems to be every MARVEL SOUNDTRACK's goal; Beat "Hero" with melodramatic songs. Vindicated tires to be just that, with phrases that are delivered so horribly in the vocals, its hard to believe why anyone who isn't tone-deaf could like this song or the band for that matter. Now the lyrics themselves aren't that bad, but could they be anymore disjointed? The song is literally describing an undecided person unable to admit truthfully that whomever he refers to was right and he was wrong.
IN TRUTH the theme for this movie really should been Train's song "Ordinary." Moreso because it truly fits what is captured in the move and describes Spider-man's heroic sacrifices and character. However there is a small problem with the song at the beginning, in which the singer says, "Whose eyes am I behind" in such odd way it almost sounds like he said "Whose eyes in my behind," if you don't listen really hard that is. Danny Elfman's "Spidey Suite" and "Doc Oct suite," were a nice addition to the soundtrack, there are indeed still full of the wondrous miracle type delivery of the music from the first soundtrack. The two track's only downfall is that the DOCTOR OCTOPUS theme far too much. It truly becomes more of an irritant than a joy. Another song that I liked on this Soundtrack was Hoobastank's "Did you." Which really feels more or less like what could've been on the first SM soundtrack but Hoobastank wasn't popular back then and there was always Alien Ant Farm to listen to. All in all this soundtrack managed to fall flat on its back with only six good songs to show for what little effort they put into making it. Buy it if your a fan these, er, singers and bands, then go right ahead and purchase this. Other than that your better off sticking to the Original Scores. If you are looking for a CD, go out and buy the first SPIDER-MAN soundtrack if you haven't already. The only thing this was missing was "Rain Drops Keep Fallin' on my head," which is, ironically, on the SCORE.

Although I haven't watched the movie yet, I can say that they've put a really decent soundtrack togetehr. You get Maroon and Train on it, a kinda pop-rockers whom I really like. Then you also get Jet, great aussie rockers. But the best is yet to come. There are also songs from Lostprophets and Smile Empty Soul, both being one of my favourite bands. And on the end, you geat a really great, super, fantastic song from Ana, titled We Are. This song is a really great pop song and I listened it quite a few times.
This is why thsi cd is worth getting it.
