Slaughter of the Innocents stars Scott Glenn (The Keep) as FBI Agent Stephen Broderick. After witnessing the wrongful execution of a 'convict' believed to be responsible for the brutal killing of a young girl that occurred years ago. In Mohab, after the execution, a store clerk gets killed and a young child is kidnapped. Both crimes mirror the child homicide. The only person that believes Broderick is his computer-whiz of a son Jesse (Played by Jesse Cameron-Glickenhaus, the director's son.) Stephen and his son later head out to Mohab to locate the real killer, who happens to be a schizophrenic who believes himself to be a new Noah, having built himself an Ark and having collected two of every living thing. And Jesse may be the next victim. Who will survive?
Overall, I think the movie is actually not that bad. It is ridiculous that Jesse is displayed as being smarter than any of the federal agents shown in this movie, but it's still funny, in an unintentional away. James Glickenhaus, who also helmed the awesome Peter Weller/Sam Elliott movie, Shakedown , did a good job with the direction and I also liked the score by Joe Renzetti.
Recommended.
DVD EXTRAS: The DVD is bare-boned but with a pretty good full frame presentation. Also, the DVD is out of print, but I was very lucky to find it for only $3 at BigLots!, so if you find this film at your local BigLots!, I would suggest buying it.

I am an ardent admirer of Scott Glenn and will watch anything he makes. This is a film for father and son bonding, plus the storyline while not a terrific one is none the less entertaining.

Huh. This was certainly an interesting movie, although not the best of the psychological-thriller drama. I actually played a minute role (Kristi Collins) and remember the whole production and premis as very scary, but also very sophisticated. Twelve or so years later, I find this movie a bit disjointed. Still, it is well worth the buck fifty to check it out from a small town video store and watch. That is, if one is not looking for something too intellectually taxing.

This movie is a classic. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Scott Glenn is superb as the detective and his character son, 11 year old Jessie, is impressive. This story can be non fictional. There's a lot of demented people out there today. This maniac that they are pursuing is so twisted. He is a monster. The things he does is horrifying. And the ending is a shocker. This film is becoming hard to find. Get it before it's too late.

I haven't seen this movie in a while, in most part, because I couldn't find it. Anyway, I saw it a long time ago and it was so cool. I was around 13, and an avid horror movie watcher. I was never nervous to watch any type of horror around my parents, until this movie. This movie is pretty gory and very entertaining. It is very nerve racking and pretty suspenseful.
