Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Heavy Rockin' Soundtrack to a Solid Action Movie
"The Punisher" soundtrack is almost exactly like the movie. It has a great start, keeps a good pace throughout, and ends with a bang and a hush. "Step Up" starts off this album with all of the explosiveness that Frank Castle personifies in the flick. Songs by established rockers like Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, and Seether set the tone for the rest of the album. If you really like modern hard rock(I see some of the kiddies call it Nu Metal), then this album will suffice. I'm from the old heavy metal/hair band days of Metallica, Motley Crue and Def Leppard, but I really enjoy some of the new stuff these bands like Drowning Pool and Edgewater are putting out.

Of course there is the token song performed by a band and "Amy Lee of Evanescence." Personally, I feel that she and her band are about to suffer the consequences of major overkill. Also, if you purchased the "Daredevil" soundtrack, you'll find that many of the same artists appear on it and this album. Anyway, don't let that deter you from buying this album. To put it in layman's terms, "It totally rocks, man!"

Also, "In Time" is a sweet treat from Mark Collie. You might remember him from his days as a future breakout artist in country music with songs like "Even The Man In The Moon Is Cryin'." Unfortunately, he did his own thing, got seriously ill, and Nashville didn't place much emphasis on him anymore. He's a great artist that deserves way more than he's received. Glad to see him on this album, even though the young'uns might not like his style because he doesn't growl the lyrics.

Get this one, you'll like it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great soundtrack
Out of the many soundtracks full of rock/metal tracks, this is one of the best. Quite similar to the Daredevil soundtrack (it even has several of the same bands). The only downside is that it contains a few boring, generic-type songs that were probably only put in as filler.
1. Step Up- 84/100. A good song, although it gets old quickly. The lyrics are pretty lame, also.
2. Bleed for Me- 75/100. A decent song, although it annoys me how Puddle of Mudd sounds EXACTLY like Fuel.
3. Slow Motion- 86/100. A fairly typical Nickelback song, doesn't really fit with the movie, but still good.
4. Never Say Never- 90/100. I'm not quite sure why, but I love this song. It definitely doesn't fit with the movie, but it's a fun song.
5. Broken- 96/100. Great song, although it's sort of overplayed. Much better than the original, although the original is still good.
6. Finding Myself- 75/100. Decent, but nothing special. Kind of generic.
7. Lost in a Portrait- 88/100. Very good song, although it took a few listens before I started liking it.
8. Still Running- 50/100. I just plain hate Chevelle, so don't take my word for it on this one.
9. Ashes to Ashes- 75/100. Pretty average, not much else to say.
10. Sold Me- 95/100. One of Seether's best songs. A little more fast paced than their other stuff.
11. Eyes Wired Shut- 72/100. The verses on this song are great, but the chorus is unbearable.
12. Slow Chemical- 80/100. Fairly good track. Sounds pretty similar to the Finger 11 song from the Daredevil soundtrack, however.
13. The End Has Come- 93/100. Great song, ties in with the movie perfectly.
14. Piece by Piece- 75/100. Very average, generic rock/nu-metal track.
15. Bound To Violence- 10/100. Thank God it's only two and a half minutes long. Sounds like every other Hatebreed song in existence, but with different lyrics. Ugh.
16. Sick- 75/100. Like track 14, a very average, generic song. Nothing special.
17. Complicated- 75/100. See track 16.
18. Time for People- 97/100. I love this song! The lyrics and music are both amazing.
19. In Time- 95/100. Great way to end the soundtrack. Completely different than the rest of the album, but a good, short song nonetheless.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - very good
The cd was pretty good except for tracks 1, 11, 15, and 19. The rest of the songs were pretty good. The best tracks are 12, 7, 8, 6, and 5.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A good soundtrack.
I personally really liked the CD. And I had heard of almost every band on the soundtrack prior to it. Of course my personal favorite is Seether & Amy Lee. And your right, although its great, it is no way better than Seether's original version. Other two favorites are Drowning Pool & Smile Empty Soul. I would highly recommend the CD to someone who likes rock music.
