Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Nice compositions
Good music, an enjoyable background music. And the added speeches from LaCroix make it worth it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The legacy of vampire homicide detective Nick Knight lives!!
"Forever Knight" was a fabulous(ly cheesy) Canadian sci-fi series that was filmed and set in Toronto. It lasted for three seasons and revolved around the unlife of Toronto homicide detective Nick Knight, a 700-year old vampire who longed to be mortal and redeem himself from centuries of killing and blood.

Much of the soundtrack's score is devoted to the flashback scenes from centuries past, of the bloodlust that consumes Nick, his master LaCroix, and his lover/vampire sibling Janette, so it is appropriately dark and moody, with heavy percussion, ominous strings and sudden crashes. There are softer, gentler songs as well, such as "Suite from Queen of Harps" and "Nick's Lullaby."

The music is 100% synth(etic), which may be a turnoff for some but Fred Mollin's music sets the stage perfectly for midnight prowls through Toronto's seedier, darker side. The songs with vocals by Torontonian Lori Yates (originally a country singer) are my favourite parts of the soundtrack. There are four songs from the first two seasons: "The Hunger," "Black Rose," "Touch the Night" and "Dark Side of the Glass." These songs are dark and brooding, played in LaCroix's vampire/Goth club "The Raven" (the actual building was the Fluid Lounge at 217 Richmond W).

This is a must-have companion for fans of "Forever Knight," along with the sequel CD "More Music from Forever Knight." There were also three FK novels published: "These Our Revels" by Anne Hathaway-Nayne, where Nick performs in Shakespeare's company, "Intimations of Mortality" by Susan M. Garrett, and "A Stirring of Dust" by Susan Sizemore. Although the show is no longer on the air, the vampiric legacy of Nick Knight lives on through the music of Fred Mollin. Ten stars and lots of happy memories!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - ALWAYS & FOREVER NICKS FAN
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A MAJOR FAN OF VAMPIRES EVER SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL. I HAVE WATCHED "FOREVER KNIGHT" EVER SINCE THE SHOW BEGAN. I WAS TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH NICK AND LACROIX AND STILL AM. I WAS DEVASTED WHEN IT ENDED. I WAS HOPING THE SHOW WOULD COME BACK!!! I RECORDED EVERY SHOW THAT WAS EVER MADE, AND STILL WATCH IT TO THIS DAY. THE LAST SHOW HAD MY JAW DROP, I DID NOT EXPECT THAT TO HAPPEN. IT JUST ENDED SO SUDDENLY. PLEASE COME BACK!!!!! ANYWAY, I USE TO LOVE WHEN LACROIX WOULD RAMBLE ON. I NEVER EXPECTED TO HEAR HIS WORDS AGAIN. AND NICK WOULD HAVE ME MEZMERIZED WHENEVER HE PLAYED HIS PIANO. I'M SO ELATED TO HAVE HIM BACK. ALWAYS & (FOREVER) YOURS NICK...TRIN

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - While I am not a fan of the series...
I know someone who is, and that is how I got exposed to this truly wonderful soundtrack. At first, I was leary of the vocals by Lori Yates, and in fact I found one of them to be nothing more than the title repeated ad infinitum; but she added a mostly welcome and tolerable tone to this soundtrack. Also, I found Nigel Bennett's quips to be amusing. However, where this track truly shines is the instrumentals. That may be a bias of mine, but so be it. There are so many good electronic instrumentals that it's hard to pick favourites, but I'll list a few anyway: Track 5; the suite from Be My Valentine; Track 4; and the suite from Queen of Harps. However, all of them are truly excellent and worth listening to repeatedly. As such, this album would be a good addition to any collection, and I highly recommend it.
