Back in 2003 when Universal was all gung-ho about the cinema debut of the updated, and critically panned, Hulk movie, they dug into the archives and pulled out this as the original series first ever box-set. Many fans were outraged that they were given this best-of 14 episode set rather than complete seasons. Of course a few years later, they got what they wanted, but this box-set should have been given a better chance. Think of this as a great addition to the "casual" fan. Featuring episodes from the first four seasons (for some strange reason NO shows from Season Five are included), this is like "Hulk 101", but not without a few flaws. For some reason the shows are not in chronological order, jumping all over it's six discs, that of which aren't labeled with each episode nor is the box telling you where each episode is. Another quirk is that even though most of these shows would be considered the best of the series, it's as if most of the better ones were two-parter shows. In fact, ten of the hours are, while eight are not. And finally, each season is not represented equally here, with Season Two getting six shows, Four has five, One has only two, and Season Three only one. But there's no denying that they make up some of the best hours the show ever produced. Even though five years of release separate them, the video/audio quality between this "Ultimate" release and the "Complete Seasons" are the same, and that's not a bad thing. So due to the quality of the shows contained, I've overlooked it's flaws and suggest it to any fan that would like a "Best Of The Hulk" in their collection.
With all the recent Marvel films that have come out over the past ten years, this television chapter should be revisted by all. Minus the hairstyles and clothing, it truly doesn't look aged that much. And I would take an actual actor sprayed green over fakey cartoonish CGI anyday. A worthy addition to your Fantasy/Sci-Fi DVD collection.

Hey what's up my fellow "incredible hulk" fans! This is Jermaine, and my thoughts on the "incredible hulk ultimate collection are similiar to other customers who bought this dvd box set. I too thought it was a rip-off. For the amount of money that this box set cost,we should have most definitely got more episodes! The incredible hulk ran for 5 seasons, over 90 episodes, and out of that all we got was 17 episodes! What's up wit dat!? There are no extras concerning the show or the cast, there are only 3 episodes on 5 of the discs and 1 disc has only 2 episodes. The discs are only one-sided. The discs are not labeled to show you which episodes are on what disc, and the episode listing on the back cover is not in harmony with how the episodes appear on the discs. To call this an "ultimate collection",and to charge $70.00 for this box set,and to release six disc,(why does it take SIX discs to release only 17 episodes?),I think we should have gotten at least 50 episodes, only on 5 discs,it could have been 10 episodes on each disc(5 on each side),episodes from all 5 seasons, then I would feel like I got my money's worth, then I think you can call this an ultimate collection! To pay $70 for only 17 episodes, that's crazy! The average dvd box set cost between $35 and $45 and you get over 20 episodes. I am somewhat satisfied with this collection because the episodes on here are phat and three of my favorite episodes are up here,"The First","Mystery Man",and "Prometheus",and I think this box set wets your appetite for what's to come. So far seasons 1 and 2 of the hulk have been released, and I have read that seasons 3 and 4 may be released June 2008 and season 5 may be released the following october. That's what's up! I can only hope and pray that this is true, then my hulk collection will be complete! To complete my ENTIRE tv on dvd box set collection I need and am eagerly and anxiously awaiting seasons 4 and 5 of "Charlies Angels", seasons 3-5 of "The Incredible Hulk",and seasons 2-5 of "The Fall Guy". I already have all 7 seasons of "The Dukes Of Hazzard",I have all 4 seasons of "Knight Rider",I have the first 4 seasons of "The A-Team"(I did not like season 5),and I have all 3 seasons of "Wonder Woman",as well as seasons 1 and 2 of the hulk, and season 1 of the fall guy. These 7 shows are my favorite shows of all-time! The seventies and eighties most definitely ruled the T.V. world! These shows can never be duplicated, and today's shows can't even come close! The shows of today can't compare and compete with the shows of yesterday! That's why I hardly watch regular t.v. today,90% of the time my television is on, I am watching my dvd box sets. And today's television women don't even come close to yesterday's television women! Charlies Angels,Wonder Woman,Daisy Duke,Jody Banks,Pamela Anderson, the hottest women of yesterday's television! Who was hotter in the 70's,Jill Munroe or Wonder Woman? Who was hotter in the eighties,Daisy Duke or Jody Banks? In my opinion, the only women on television today who can compete with the women of yesterday are the WWE Divas! Candice Michelle,Torrie Wilson,Michelle McCool,Mickie James,Victoria,Melina,Maria, etc.,the hottest women on television today! Anyway I hope and pray that the remaining box sets I need to complete my collection are released sooner than later, and to all my fellow 70's and 80's television fans who are eagerly awaiting their shows or seasons to be released,I hope you get what you want sooner than later! I don't know about you all,but as soon as my box sets are available for pre-order,I'm all on it like white on rice! Best Believe Dat! Peace Everybody! Jermaine

This DVD had some good and interesting episodes of THE INCREDIBLE HULK like The First, Mystery Man, Dark Side, Deep Shock, and The Disciple; plus they're shown complete and uncut like they were orignally shown on CBS, unlike the case on the SCI-FI Channel, which shows too many commercials with lots of deleted scenes.
Additionally, this DVD also includes Closed Captioning on each episode like all Universal DVD's do, but the big downfall to this DVD is the DVD package didn't say which DVD disc had which episodes, nor showed a picture with a brief summary and their original airdates, which therefore made it difficult to remember and figure out which episode was on which DVD disc.
Another minus to this DVD box set was it didn't have any episodes from the 5th Season, even though it had episodes from all the other seasons, but only episodes from the 1st Season thru the 4th Season.
In addition to the downfalls of this DVD they should've included some more sophisticated episodes of The Incredible Hulk like "Proof Positive", Interview With The Hulk, The pilot episode, Metamorphosis, Broken Image, Captive Night, Sideshow, Long Run Home, Triangle, The Phenom, A Minor Problem, etc.
So now I can hardly wait till Universal finally releases the 3rd Season, the 4th Season, and the 5th Season of The Incredible Hulk, since those were the most sophisticated seasons of that show.

The shipping time is ridiculous...For a product that was shipped on 7Mar, I should still not be waiting to receive it on 10April...over a month later, even if it is standard shipping... I have only rated this as 1 star because there was no 0 star rating.

A great collection of episodes to add to your DVD collection. Anyone that likes old shows that exspand from the early to mid 1970s til early 1980s will enjoy this collection. There are only about twenty episodes but they are worth it.
